Don't think we will have a choice. It sounds like we will both be in the same SEC pod. a & m probably does not want to play us either.

Here's the rule, and I make the rules.

If Texas and aggy are in different conferences, then no game.
If Texas and aggy are in the same conference, then yes game.

    NO
    NO
    NO
    !!!!!

But, if it's gonna be, TEXAS should insist that it's held at a neutral site. They don't deserve our presence in their trailer park every other year.

OK by Me. Second option will probably occur. Both will be in the same SEC pod.

OK by me but that will not happen. TOO much money involved playing home and home by both teams to choose a neutral site.

And we don't want their goose-stepping, thigh-high pleather bootie wearing, shaved headed freaks marching up Congress every other year either. We already have enough freaks populating downtown Austin without adding that mangy lot to the mix.

I think this game is like no other. It has the "it" factor of the Florida Georgia and Texas OU game. Over the decade, attempts to create the Turkey day game have not worked in part because of a non existent rivalry, and distance. Austin and College station are close enough to each other and to Dallas, Houston, Ft Worth, San Antonio etc that filling the stadium even on Thursday afternoon or night is easy.

I loved attending that game and I love having something awesome to do after lunch besides nap. Wish Nebraska and OU would play on Friday!

One problem could be that aggie sells 90k tickets but no one shows up because it is raining, cold or Thanksgiving, but they could put those Covid era card board fans up or the SEC can prohibit ESPN from showing Kyle field attendance. aggie should also point their canon into the stands so they dont hit anyone.

The game was traditionally on Thanksgiving Day, but thanks to the aggys' NCAA TV prohibitions for jackie/aggy cheating, our game got bumped. Oh, I forgot...aggys don't lie, cheat or steal. My bad. (Hope that doesn't short circuit /overload anyone's sarcasm filted)

I liked T+1 better. Not everyone has work off or can get it off, but it's more negotiable for most people than is missing time with family you only see on rare holiday occasions.

We already have one big neutral site rivalry. Another probably means not enough home games in the average year (although now that we're in the SEC we'll start making our ooc schedule be all home games most years, right... ?)

Not that it matters, but I have made my druthers known since the announcement we were moving to the SEC.

    1) We continue to play OU the second Saturday in October at The Cotton Bowl, preferably at 230.

    2) We play A&M Thanksgiving night or T+1 home and home. When it was an annual event, I supported playing alternate years in Houston and Dallas, but going to Jerry World for anything other than UIL finals is not something I can support.

playing the aggies home and home every Thanksgiving or the next day would be awesome, for the state of tx. Not right.
I think Texas vs Georgia every year home and home would be awesomer.

Yeah really. Make the College Station games start at 2:30 pm or later, and just have our guys sleep in their dorm rooms in Austin. Then take a charter bus over there in the morning. It’s not that far.

My favorite game was always the game with them and I preferred it when it was there. I love going to Kyle and beating them there. Walking away listening to them singing about sawing our horns off when we just beat them is sublime

leaving after a win and saying howdy to all is divine

I never liked going to Dallas for anything except Cotton Bowl game on 1-1. OU rivalry should be home and home

I don't see that at all with A&M. I think of OU as a respected opponent with a history of success, which makes for a great rivalry. The A&M cult and their idiotic "traditions" are an embarrassment to the state, imo. And historically they are losers. They can pair up with Tech or LSU instead.
Disagree. The annual Cotton Bowl with the burnt orange-crimson split in the stands is classic. No other rivalry like it.

And don't forget the hotel provided no breakfast.
    Typical aggy deliberate screw up.
No sane intelligent person should EVER want to play those jerkwads again.

I hope CDC is apprised of how Texas has been treated and makes sure aggy knows we won't put up with it

When it comes to food, Chris needs to contact Mark Dennard to feed our team at one of his places. Mark is Aggie through and through, but he is also a class act. He was totally embarrassed by the Patel fiasco. We could always call Adams and have all the meals done at Miramont which would be a ***** slap to Jimbo since Adams won't let Jimbo build a house there.

I have been a Longhorn and College Football fan for a long time. Most of the 60's through 80's I hated Arkansas the most and have scars for my efforts but I went last time and had a great time w great fans calling them Hogs. (really one of my favorite cheers, but I still hate Arkansas one day a year). Same w Oklahoma. Can be rough pregame but after it is over its generally over.

Aggie is a whole different breed of cat because I dont really "hate them". I just observe and shake my head ALL YEAR ROUND at the aggie stuff that some aggies do. Frankly, I know some great aggies including every one of my vets and many business and personal contacts. Honest and smart etc. I still want to play and beat them every year. I would rather play Nebraska (cry babies of all time) ND, and UCLA (I love the Rose Bowl) often rather than La Tech etc. If we are going for warm up games please pick Rice and Tulane and just play there for the venues.

The problem w aggie is that the generally smart aggie population is overshadowed by some of the most ridiculous actions I would describe as corp turds gone wild. And instead of the smart honest ones saying "no really dont build a bonfire that is structurally unsound and dangerous they build an aggie hinge and do the same thing in the woods. Last week was another example of a silent aggie sports media refusing to criticize shooting a cannon at football players praying, half naked men conducting a race during the game or even questioning why aggie would pay Jimbo 1 miilion dollar to beat UMASS? This is the secret sauce of aggism, do not criticize aggies, do not state the obvious, if outsiders criticize milk men, the same half time show for 45 years, attacks by park rangers on opposing cheerleaders and fans, the money squandered on Jimbo or NIL evacuees, call it a turdition.

But I still want to play them and the ARKIE OU AM UT pod makes the most money because we all have hated each other for decades. The only other choice would be Missouri for Aggie and it just isnt near as good year in and year out.

Always felt it should be an afternoon game. I'm a T+1 guy all the way. Don't get not wanting to play them. Too much fun to beat. How some of you have/had so much problem with them I also don't get. They're not important enough for me. And yeah I've known and worked with a lot of them over the course of my life.

From a former player staying in the dorm at Texas prior to a game is NEVER a good idea. Some young boys turning to men will choose to sneak out and party. That is why the team stays in a hotel the day before home games.
