Longhorns Bowl Game Possibilities

If it gives me the chance to see the horns one more time, i'll gladly take the participation trophy.

 

I’d watch UT play Vandy in the Independence Bowl.
Last year , we did not have the opportunity

 

If TCU beats KSU, are we definitely out of consideration for the Sugar Bowl? Or does the bowl have some discretion in their selection?

 

I saw a prediction today that we would be in the sugar bowl so who knows?

 

Yahoo Sports is projecting us in Sugar Bowl vs Tennessee. Kansas state in Alamo. A Tennessee - Texas Matchup would get massive dollars and eye balls.

 

I also saw prediction of Texas to Sugar Bowl but I really think I saw somewhere that the Sugar is locked into the Big XII champ or loser on championship if champ gets to CFP. its been that way every time OU made the CFP and the Sugar wasn't one of semi sites.

So I looked it up (because google right) and it is the "best available team from the Big XII."

That seems to give some discretion and Texas did beat KSU..........

 

Would love to see UT whip the little ut to put to rest the silly argument of who is THE UT.

The Sugar will probably have LSU as one of the teams.

 

I talked to some of my friends in NOLA. My advice was to promise the new Big XII commissioner that the Sugar Bowl halftime show would feature a couple of his rap groups, and he'd let the Sugar Bowl take oSu or Iowa State if they wanted.

 

The SEC is a convoluted mess from a second place/ Sugar Bowl standpoint, and that’s not meant to be a knock on the league.

If LSU somehow upsets Georgia, what a crazy situation. But assuming they don’t, I really don’t think LSU the second best team in that league. Even though they beat Alabama, I would probably put Alabama, Tennessee, and even perhaps Mississippi ahead of them regardless of what happened in the season.

So if we get the opportunity to play in the Sugar, given a choice, LSU would be my 3rd or 4th preference. But of course, the SEC commissioner is not really interested in Dukesteer’s opinion.

 

I keep seeing Texas vs Utah in Alamo Bowl. Yawn, but a chance to win 9 games.

 

Oh my, all the hype would be Rising.

 

And TT -UNC in Cheez-it. Make for more entertaining games to switch big 12 teams which is why they wont

 

I am a bit tired of the Alamo bowl, but this makes since from a TV point.
I say this because they have Alabama project in the Sugar Bowl. TV has already had that game. So, KSU will probably get that nod. As for the Cheezit Bowl, I would rather not play against Mack Brown. Now if they switch Alabama to the Orange bowl, I would like to play Tenn in the Sugar bowl.

 

Unless UU beats SC again.
