The Mavs are my team. Just like the Rangers, the Stars and the Cowboys. I'm a metroplex guy at heart though I've been in Austin since 1994.

    Now to the point.

We stink. Hardaway is a disaster. They resigned him to a big contract after he had a horrendous game against the Clippers two years ago in the deciding game of that series. We let Brunson go because our "brain-trust" couldn't see the upside in him that they saw in Hardaway. Last night, Hardaway was 0-9. He sucks. It's just that simple. Bench him.

And once again we lost to a short-handed team. They have no mental toughness. Luka is great but he needs help. And he needs to quit complaining.

    And now, I'll quit complaining.

i complain about them on another board lol

hardaway has been terrible this year, but we're under performing because Dorian, Reggie, and Maxi are way under performing and we aren't playing Wood enough.

    Luka can't do it all.

Totally agree. It seems when we lose it's because the Hardaway's of the world rack up O-fers. CWood seems very consistent and it's a complete mystery to me why Kidd is not starting him.

4th straight loss. Kidd is still being stubborn about CWood. They should fire him now and bench Hardaway and give all his minutes to Josh Green. All of them. No more Hardaway. He's done.

It was incredible. Luka is sick. But he needs help. He's gonna end up like Iverson.

Kyrie Irving. Welp. What can we say? Big news. I'm a big Mavs fan and I have mixed feelings. But let's rewind. The pre-Irving roster wasn't going anywhere. It was obvious. So they are going all in. Think Charles Haley. But Irving is a mess in the head. I've said it. I was cheering for him to be cut by the Nets and nobody picking him up. I wanted him to pay for his team wrecking ways. Now he's a Mav. I have zero expectation that he's going to come in and be a professional basketball player intent on making this team a championship contender. But there is one carrot: a huge contract on the horizon. I think Kyrie likes his money, so I'm saying there's a chance he will buck-up and play ball.

Even if Kyrie eventually goes the FA route, I think a change needed to be made to the personnel. It could cause some headaches in the short-term, but this roster needed an overhaul. You can't keep saying "at least we have DFS because he's my 2nd favorite Mav" and expecting different results or more cap space or whatever.

From what I read, the Mavs will have lots of cap space if they don't sign Kyrie. So in some ways, this was a very smart move even if he acts like, well... Kyrie. As I said, the team was going nowhere fast. They have to make some sharp turns to get back on track. I wish they could dump Hardaway too. His contract is a huge albatross.

Every time it appears that Cuban has decided to be a good corporate citizen, his ego gets in the way.

Mavs looked good with the two straight road wins. Kyrie adds something for sure.

Well, Durant to Phoenix looks like a sure winner on paper. But Durant is still hurt and is 34. Paul is injury prone and not necessarily a game 7 guy. Booker is money for the most part. And the center, can't remember his name) is potentially a head case. We'll see. But the Mavs can be overpower by height on this match-up.

losing doedoe will really hurt on KD. Maxi might be the only guy we have?

It's so ridiculous how soft this team is... losing to the Lakers at home like that proves there is something very wrong.

And WTH? Why did Utah hand the Lakers Jarred Vanderbilt along with two other role players? Why does anyone make a trade with the Lakers? It's not on the same level but it reminds me when Memphis (I believe) traded Paul Gasol to the Lakers and basically handed them a championship.

I think Kidd is gone after this season. The team seems to have lost whatever mojo it may have had. Playing soft on defense seems to have become a Mavs habit and Kidd has no clue how to stop that trend.

He didn't exactly light it up when he coached the Bucks. We probably need one stud a-hole on the team like a Marcus Morris type who can start and handle people the way Vanderbilt handled us. He was a nobody and comes in like a Dennis Rodman who can shoot. Is that us or what. It seems we allow so many players to have out of body experiences against us. Maybe we also need a Thibideau old school coach.

    From the DMN:

"“Like, it’s a really bad roster,” Anthony said. “Listen, this all goes back to when they didn’t re-sign Jalen Brunson after his third year. You sign him then? You still have Dorian [Finney-Smith]. You still have [Spencer] Dinwiddie. You still have a complete roster, and while I think Kyrie is a more dynamic talent than Jalen Brunson, the combination of Jalen Brunson and those guys that are in Brooklyn, they make them a much better team. It’s about who those great players are going to play with.”

They stink. They just do. If Kyrie leaves, then it's Luka and the what? Crickets. Luka is now showing his warts. Kidd is not an elite coach. And guess what? The league is investigating the obvious tanking the Mavs did at the end. They were so dumb about it. They basically announced it to the league. If the league penalizes them their #10 pick in this years draft then this team is headed for the bottom of the pile where they will remain until Cuban sells the team. He is even worse than Jerry Jones which is saying something.

I like the Mavs, I think, but they always seem to lose close games when I check the box scores. Always look at them as a perpetual mediocre team…..but admit I hardly watch them. Not very entertaining.

Cuban is an enigma. He's like a cross between Billy Beane and Howard Hughes.

After the 2011 championship, Cuban thought he could outsmart the new CBA and build a team by shedding contracts and making shrewd deals. The problem was that he didn't have to do so. Players (like Tyson Chandler) could have always been used as bargaining chips, not something to bail on and free up space like a video game. The work stoppage that year really screwed with Cuban's perception of what a good team could look like, while the Heat said "f**k it" and kept their superteam together. Meanwhile, Cuban stuck with guys like Delonte West, Roddy Beaubois, and Brian Cardinal. Ugh.

TLDR; He could have conceivably built (around Dirk) what every other superteam was doing, but was so consumed by the CBA, he went into a shell. He's doing the same now to Luka, who will definitely leave Dallas.
