Which means the status quo for aggy- who have never sniffed an SEC West championship. Still not SEC ready after a decade and $100’sM pissed down the drain.

breaks my heart (said no one. ever)

I think for those who can't crack the starting lineup, the transfer is also for new NIL money as it's like recruiting all over again.

This offseason is going to really rewrite the NIL landscape, in terms of the BMD's and organizations putting in way more oversight. Instead of millions in blank checks, I think we're going to see more "prove it" deals that start lower and ramp up as the student athletes progress (with the same college, of course).

I agree. It was a wild west show not unlike the VC money pouring into crypto. Now the bubble has burst. There are only so many truly program changing athletes out there and the rest are necessary but not worth the money. The coaches will spend the money without restraint so the BMD's will have to have their own unbiased "scout" letting them know what's real and what isn't.

As predicted Discipline and Desire (DaD) beats
Spoiled, Athletic Deadbeats ( SAD) more often than not.
    Example 1: Kansas State
    Example 2: A&M

I don't believe the coaches are allowed to spend any money on players.

Right. I meant they would and will possibly be a little more liberal with their advice on spending money than if they actually had to pay the money themselves. It's easy to spend someone else's money.

Mostly true, but it's gonna hurt them in a year or two, when those athletes would've been upperclassmen. Their rebuilding project has gotten much harder.

We probably have quite a bit of money committed to the NIL fund for this year. I'm sure there's some earmarked for Hill. Aggy is probably panicking and doubling down as they are wholly committed to the cause. It would help if Hill would decide in cases there's someone else who we could pay (sorry, that's how it feels to me) to come in here and make a difference.

The Brockermeyer story reminds us once again that getting worked up over recruits is a mental stress we don't need. I think maybe Herman was blamed for losing out. Maybe Tom's not all bad and spit the bit on the egomania. I don't know. I wasn't there. It's hard to know why someone wouldn't want to move to Austin and play down here. I see no downside. I guess the relationships with the coaches and the $$$ are huge.

I think only a few get rich off NIL. Most get spending $, chump change or zilch.

I suspect that we’re walking a tight rope with respect to Hill. He’s the player we want but because he’s “apparently” dragging his feet (which I don’t fully understand), we may not know of his intentions until the 21st, if then.

The dilemma is simply, if we have the opportunity to sign a top quality starting LB from the portal, do we hold back for fear of pushing Hill away? Not a pleasant situation.

I don’t know what Hill is telling the Texas coaching staff but unless he’s a silent commit — which would be the best of all worlds – we may be facing a very challenging dilemma.
