Just got back from Moody. Voice is about gone. Man, these types of games can't be good for my health. Thank goodness the Indeed Bar is right behind us. :hookem::smile1:

Just another night in the top to bottom stacked Big XII. Plus with the hatred that tech has for all things Texas basketball any win was going to be a good thing. That said, wow was last night a heart attack waiting to happen. I really like the never quit that this team has shown but would appreciate a few games where we don't have to see the never quit attitude and they are the ones jumping on the other team and then putting their foot on their throat and finishing them.

Looked at their last 4 games, all loses. They are the tied for last in the Big 12 with WV and a Home game.

Looked like a probable win on paper, you disagree?

This league is so strong. Ttu was 10-2 prior to B12 starting. Then losses by 3,5, 6 and the blowout to ksu—the same ksu that beat the Horns. Also ttu was without big man Aimaq all season until last night. And he was huge inside on O and D.
I agree that it looked like a win on paper and the Horns did win. But it was a nail biter for sure. I think all B12 games are going to be that way.

And I don’t think this team is playing as well now as they are capable of. I think we know why.

But I’m hoping these close come from behind wins are building their confidence for the tougher games ahead. :hookem::hookem:

By a pretty good coaching staff, and well executed by a pretty good team.

Our offense is what it is. Gonna just have to accept the slumps we go on I guess, but I was worried because of the air ball 3s, missed layups, and turnovers early on. We keep winning so :idk:

    1. Every team in the B12 is a good team, regardless of B12 record. There are no cupcakes.
    2. Texas gets every teams best game. There will be no laughers.
    3. Tech would literally give their d&%$ to beat Texas. It's more important to them than winning a NC. Regardless of what Texas thinks, Texas is their biggest rival. No game against tech is going to be a laugher.

I think the saying “you’re harder on your own kids….” applies here. A lot of teams would love to have only 2 losses.

This. Sometimes coaches forget how obsessed Tech is with us (in all sports) and don’t prepare like they should. We are their Super Bowl in everything, so we should prepare accordingly even though they’re just another team in the conference to us.

I do not disagree. But I think there is a big difference between a "probable win" and "should've been a laugher".

Aggy Commerce should've been a laugher (and was).

A win is a win is a win in the Big 12 this season. However, the Horns need to clean up their first half performance or they will be headed to an absolute beat down on the road soon.

Horns don't have much time to clean it up with a trip to Ames this Tuesday coming up. 'Clones are the real deal. This game should tell us a lot as to where the Horns are moving forward.

I can agree with “laughter”, I was not really thinking it would be s “laughter” but I was expecting a win that was not a double digit come from behind nail biter.right up to the last second.

i Lso expect to beat WV at home and it will not be a laughter.

TTU has only lost once in conference play in a “laughter” to ISU where we go next.

I expect to win in another nail biter If they continue to play good which they have in the last couple of games.

I’m not sure I’d give up on a Top Ten team with only 2 losses in mid January at halftime just yet.

There are ZERO easy wins in the Big 12 folks. It’s the toughest gauntlet in college basketball and Texas is in the upper echelon

I will be satisfied if we split with ISU, ku and ksu this season. Those teams are tough as nails.
14-4 in the big 12 would be just fine with me.

I keep hearing this, but where is the proof? Techs two most notable wins this year are against Louisville 2-16 and Georgetown 5-14. They have lost to every decent to good team they've played. WVU and OSU are similar except at least WVU beat a 10-8 Florida team. OSU lost to powerhouses Southern Illinois and UCF.

The Big XII is the best conference, but there should be a few easy wins this year. There's no reason to have to make a dramatic comeback at home against Tech.

So are you implying our team sucks since we had to do that? What's your point?

Maybe not that they "suck," but that these close wins against the worst teams in our conference could easily go the other direction, which would put us on par with the worst teams in our conference. It's not like we're the MEAC or Horizon Conference, but there's been a noticeable difference from 12/12 onward.

Only UH has an easier strength of schedule among the top-ranked teams than we do. That'll obviously improve starting tonight.

Playing the way we have against the first couple conference teams for the rest of the slate (13 games) means only 5-6 more wins. I don't think anyone would have been content with that back in November.

I guess I prefer to complain after the fact rather than project future wins and losses and then complain about said projection.

So to be sure I understand you correctly, was #2 Kansas victory over Tech by 3 an “easy” win then?

Conference play (to me) is a different animal than what’s on paper or who you’ve previously beaten and with the parity in this conference, there’s not any expected “easy” wins in my book. There’s nobody on the conference schedule that I think will be an easy win most especially on the road and also the fact the Texas is the SuperBowl for great majority of teams. That’s what I meant.

No, not at all. I love how the warriors go from if you don't agree then you think the team sucks. The team is awesome and talented as easily a top 5 team to me, but I don't believe the team has been prepared for these games as of late. In my opinion we are "out talenting" these lesser opponents in the second half vs playing a well organized disciplined game plan. Against better teams we won't be able to do that.

We'll see tonight because ISU is a good team with quality wins vs Villanova, North Carolina, St Johns, etc.

Based on the score it looks like a pretty close game, but I didn't watch it. ISU just beat Tech by 34 points...that qualifies as an easy win.
