A quote from the article is shown below:

"But what about Kendal’s involvement in the sexual assault scandal that rocked Baylor and the entire country? Kendal’s name was not implicated and he actually kept his job at Baylor after his father was fired, but don’t mistake that as a sign of complete innocence.

According to a Title IX lawsuit filed Jan. 27, 2017, Briles, then an assistant for his father at Baylor, asked a Dallas-area recruit: “Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at Baylor and they love football players.”"

It is Chop's amazing cool way of reporting.:trophy:

The visual really adds a lot to the print message IMHO.

And Wisconsin has a Top 5 fight song in my estimation "On Wisconsin!"

Wonder what exactly her job was? Was she heavily involved in football etc
Or maybe in the non revenue generating sports?

The article makes it sound like she was directly related to football recruiting.

It was actually part of a fight song writing contest for the University of Minnesota. A UW alum convinced the guy who wrote the music that it wouldn't win for the Gophers, then took the tune to his songwriting friend and attached the US Civil War rallying cry "On, Wisconsin" to it.

kinda sorta in a really vague way it seemed to tie her to footall. By mentioning coaches and football recruiting but it never said what She did that would be missed.
Maybe she coordinated travel arrangements and assigned Horn players as sponsors to recruits in town??

    6721,

One of DKR's greatest recruiting failures (it impacted our recruiting for at least a decade) was our lack of "matching", which Barry mastered with the help of Scott Hill. I might be wrong, but I thought part of her duties was "matching" hosts & hostesses with the recruits.

I remember dictating to Fred who a LBs host would be. Both were Church of Christ, very religious, and the kid's girlfriend was already a student at UT. Everything went really well until I was sitting in the family's home and one our BMDs called the kid to tell him to give serious consideration to the fact that we were going to fire Fred so he had no idea who his coach would be. Started three years at Baylor and was All Conference.

The kid DKR lost was devoutly religious, had lost his dad, but Texas was his dream school. His player host took him to the Villa Capri - his bathtub was bull of beer and ice, then there were the chicks just dropping by. Years later he would tell me that he was in Austin less than half an hour when he wanted to go home. He committed to OU before he got home.

KNOW EVERYTHING YOU CAN ABOUT THE TARGET BEFORE FIRING THE FIRST SHOT!

That makes sense and is VERY important.
Hopefully they can find someone good to replace her

TCU Football hires Kendal Briles as Offensive Coordinator - Frogs O' War

"Kendal Briles was also previously an assistant at Baylor from 2008-2016, a period of great on-field success for the Bears and great turmoil off the field due to a widespread sexual assault scandal and Title IX lawsuits. You can read that description of Briles’ resume HERE.

The lawsuit describes a culture of sexual violence under former Baylor football coach Art Briles in which the school implemented a “show ‘em a good time” policy that “used sex to sell” the football program to recruits. That included escorting underage recruits to strip clubs and arranging women to have sex with prospective players, the suit alleges. Former assistant coach Kendal Briles — the son of the head coach — once told a Dallas-area student athlete, “Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at Baylor and they love football players,” according to the suit. Investigation by lawyers identified at least 52 “acts of rape,” including five gang rapes, by 31 football players in a four-year period. At least two of the gang rapes were committed by 10 or more players at one time, the suit states.

TCU fans have expressed strongly held opinions regarding the hire, both for and against, as one page of the Briles resume overrides the other page for many."

It seems that religious schools often hire some of the sleaziest coaches?

Apparently Briles is good at play calling when there are 10 in the box.

That is so true. Makes you wonder if they somehow think they can rinse the sins of bad folks by hiring and supporting them again and again.

    Sabre,
Thanks for sharing the story on those two instances. I was too young to remember the one with Darrell, but definitely had heard of the recruit that Bailor got in Freddy’s time.
I was just a JC student getting ready to transfer to UT at the time, but recalled something fishy about that one. Thanks for the rest of the story.
