    I think something Stan isn't including (maybe purposefully?) from his little rant is that guys played hurt in the 90s. Jordan broke his foot in his 2nd year and then basically played through every single injury he ever had from that point onward because he saw the impact of what happened on the floor without him there.

    I think a combination of things has happened since then outside the conspiracy theory that players are getting "more hurt":
    • Regular season is watered down and too many teams make the playoffs
    • Work-life balance has shifted (call it for better or for worse... it's just different)
    • The focus on speed and athleticism from a young age means bigger collisions and harder falls.
