TCU boatraced Kansas today in the Phog. 83-60. Kansas gave up 48 first half points to TCU. Would have never happened if Roy Williams were still there. Oh wait, that’s our line.
Today is yet more evidence that every game in the Big XII is a slug fest ands there are no off nights allowed.
Coaches with 2 national championships, 9 Conference tourney championships and 16 regular season conference championships get forgiveness after being boatraced. Others with no skins on the wall not so much.
SEC should be embarrassed. B12 had multiple upsets and blowouts. ISU was the only real upset. Ms St. was actually a favorite if only by 51%. Texas actually got the worst draw. Little ut was the worst matchup we could have gotten. We knew when the season started size inside would be this team's greatest weakness and going up against Godzilla and King Kong wasn't going to go well. I'm not disappointed in the result.
I am disappointed. I’m always disappointed when a Horns team loses. That being said, I’m not at all surprised that Tennessee at home won. Rick used his team’s inside down low big man depth to wear our guys down. Terry had no clue how to stop the vol’s momentum.
I'm not surprised by the loss, but I am disappointed with being down by around 20 points most of the second half. Tennessee being a good team and being on the road is no reason to accept that. Texas was not really competitive after the first 8 minutes of the game. Just because Texas "only" lost by 11 after the game was no longer in doubt with less than 5 minutes left doesn't make this loss any better. We're in a very tough stretch and have to win at least two of the next three. Can't only beat the lower tier teams and get beat by the best teams.
More Big 12 madness Last place Texas Tech down to first place ISU by 23 in the second half comes back (the biggest in school history) to win in OT in Lubbock
The “lower” teams in conference are not gimmes. Ou beat #2 Bama by 24; ttu beat ISU tonight; tcu beat ku at Allen field house; and the Horns beat tcu. Horns have a lot of quality wins this year.
The lower teams in the Big XII are all bubble teams for the tournament, that is how deep the Big XII is.
Current expectation is 8 of 9 Big XII teams will be invited. That could change, but as it stands I am reminded of the Big East back in the day, when practically every conference member went to the tourney.
It was interesting hearing Fran Fraschilla talk on last night's broadcast about whether or not this is the Best Conference set of teams ever. He said hands down Big10 in 88-89 was the best ever. Just crazy that it is even a thought that Big12 this year is the best ever and Texas is currently sitting at the top.
