Yeah, well, they've more than earned our cynicism. Both the Bidens and the investigative arms of the government.

Hahaha, why limit it to the “investigative arm”? It has degenerated throughout all agencies.

I was a lot less cynical before 2016 and the Comey speech on choosing not to recommend prosecuting Hillary Clinton. It wasn't so much that he didn't push to have her prosecuted. He could have come up with a defensible reason - prosecutorial discretion, didn't want to politicize the department during the election, etc. I would have disagreed with it, but it's at least plausible. We have never prosecuted a presidential nominee in the middle of a campaign. He also could have (and frankly, should have) kept his mouth shut. After all, the FBI is law enforcement. It's not prosecutors. The Attorney General (and his or her subordinates) make that decision, and it was their job to decide this.

But he didn't do that. He made up an element to the crime out of whole cloth and used that as a reason not to recommend prosecution. Comey's job was FBI director, but he's a federal prosecutor by trade. He knows how to read a statute. In other words, he lied publicly in order to provide political cover to an Attorney General who didn't want to do her job for partisan reasons.

If these people are willing to do that, there's really no reason to put much, if any, faith or trust in them. Does that mean everybody at the FBI and Justice Department is rotten? No. Your rank and file agent and prosecutor who's going after routine bad guys is probably perfectly decent. However, the people in charge of prosecuting cases that have a political element (like the DC people) are clearly sleaze and shouldn't get given any kind of deference.

They will “investigate” until the story goes away. Our justice system is political at this point.

Someone on another forum I am on just said "It was reported", then he offered no link, that Biden wanted to shoot it down but Pentagon said it was a bad idea.

Biden probably has no awareness of this at all.

And did he have a security clearance at the time? If not, who gave him access to classified documents? There used to be a term for the unauthorized sharing of classified information - it was called "espionage."

So I attempted to post this on Facebook, and they said it violated their "community standards" and took it down. Pathetic. Of course, they run ads that are more explicit than that photo, but we know the real standard is that it ridicules a prominent Democrat. So we'll come up with a reason to pull it.

    I know you weren't surprised.
    Do you frequently challenge FB?

By "challenge," do you mean try to appeal their decision? No. I once quoted Seinfeld on a Seinfeld fans page where people routinely do that, and they said my comment violated their standards because it "threatened violence" (said "I'm gonna kick your ***."). Well, I assumed the initial screeners just didn't know what I was doing (even though it was in quotes and no one would have seriously thought I was threatening anyone), so I appealed the decision with a full explanation.

I lost the appeal. Well, ****. If the fact that I was clearly quoting a TV show and not threatening anyone didn't make a difference to them, then this "appeals process" is a joke. I'm not gonna waste my time. f**k 'em.

I would, but everybody I know in the states is on there. It's how many of them keep up with me.

Fair enough. I haven't proselytized anybody over it, just did it for my own sake and I'll talk about dropping FB when asked, or if it comes up in a general conversation.

Shocked I am. Deadline Repubs gave Hunter to hand over docs to Committee passed. He did not give them anything.
Now What? Will they subpeona him? This is my Rep
Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas., who sits on the Oversight Committee, told Fox News Wednesday that a subpoena order would be a "last resort," but said, "I think we're really close to it, frankly."

Duh HOW much closer can you get. Damn GOP is spineless

Deadline for Hunter, James Biden, Eric Schwerin passes to provide documents to House Oversight Committee

You mean the process by the politically biased, corrupt justice department? Are we still looking for the SCOTUS leaker?

None of the "suspects" have admitted guilt, and the media is hiding behind their shield, so very doubtful.

There are people who will sell our country, and its top secret information, down the river to the highest bidder. Right now, China is the highest bidder.
