Go back and look at when OU got the ball on their final possession in regulation time. According to ESPN play by play, OU grabbed their final defensive rebound with 21 seconds left on the clock, not less than 10 seconds. They took a well defended 2 point shot with 16 seconds remaining, rebounded, took another defended 2 point shot with 13 seconds (missed again) rebounded with 11 seconds, and kicked the ball out for the tying 3 point shot, which was made with 7 seconds remaining.
Our defense was in scramble/rebound mode, not "foul when up by 3 with less than 10 seconds on the clock" mode. We would have had to foul in the act of shooting, which would have been stupid beyond belief.
OU's original plan was hit a 2 pointer, foul and force us to make free throws. As it turned out, they managed the three because we couldn't collect the rebound when we really needed to. To me, that's the criticism that would be worth discussing, although with Disu fouled out, we didn't have our best rim protector/rebounder available.
If people want to criticize the coaches, have at it. But at least know a tiny little bit about what the hell actually happened during the game before leveling your criticisms, please.
