Moving right along... another chance to claim the regular season championship. This game will reveal the true identity of our team.

Thank you! Now maybe I can stay out of that "Baylor @ Texas 02/27/2023" room for good. Too many painful memories there and I'm trying to repress them for good.

Despite their record, this is a KSU team that we cannot take for granted. I am pretty confident we will win, but it won’t happen if we just try to phone it in. KSU beat Baylor by 19 but then lost to TCU. We have to be prepared for the team that beat Baylor while hoping we get the team that lost to TCU.

Anxiously waiting to hear how Gaston is doing. Vic said Sonya will not play vs. KSU.

Since I don't ever know which team will show up from game to game, I have decided not to make any predictions. I just HOPE Texas will win.

I've said all along that the regular season winner will have 4 losses.

Don't think one game will reveal the identity of a team.

Actually, no one needs to worry about this one. Dealing with the after effects of that performance Monday night was so bad for me that I decided to set aside the sweatshirt that I wore on Saturday during the oU game (the one that I, unfortunately, failed to wear during the baIler game), and I plan to wear it Saturday even though it is supposed to be in the low 80's down here in the Alamo city that afternoon. Yes, I'll be a little warm, but I feel its important that I take one for the team this time.

I thought I was the only one that felt responsible for the bailer lose on Monday I requested to be off early so I could watch it live and I cooked dinner. Never again, whenever I watch the games live we lose every game. I either record or watch on ESPN+. So I work on Saturday so we should be good.

I was speaking in terms of toughness, maturity, and grit. But, now that you've mentioned it, if our identity as a team hasn't been revealed by March when do YOU expect it? So far I don't know who we are... other than an inconsistent team that's capable of playing very well and beating some really good teams, and also capable of playing very poorly and being beaten by some crappy teams.

Vic said Sonya had a deep thigh contusion that he thought would work its way out, but it is more complicated than originally thought. Probably muscle strain that limits the ability to run and jump. Hope we get her back for the NCAA tourney. I would not bring her back earlier.

The contusion reportedly caused a blood clot, which is why she spent the night in the hospital. And it’s why the healing is taking so long.

Not trying to start anything, but something isn’t adding up with the Morris situation. Seemed to be injured in a game but then went back in. Then sidelined with an injury that was day to day. Seemed to be getting better then wasn’t getting better. Day to day became something more serious but less defined.

One game led to two that led to a half dozen missed games. Was going to be honored senior night then wasn’t. Traveled with the team to the OU game but then not in the house for a home game that could have claimed a conference title.

It all seems very odd. I hope she is well and getting appropriate treatment, but it sure would be nice to get some sort of official statement about what we are dealing with here.

We‘ve had more than our share of “gone girl” situations these past few years, some of which played out very publicly with hurt feelings and accusations that were not pleasant.

I agree with your assessment. There is more to the story. Sonya is one of my favorite players and I hope we get to see her in her burnt orange jersey again.

    Regarding Sonya's injury...

"Can a thigh contusion cause a blood clot?

The bruise itself won't cause a blood clot. In very rare circumstances, the hit that caused the bruise can. If a deep-seated vein is damaged during the collision, it could lead to a deep-vein clot."

If K-State could shoot free throws they would have beat OU last night - taking pressure off of Texas
    Saturday.
Oh well - win and you’re champs.
Still hoping Gaston is okay. We need her to win.

Even with a thigh contusion, odd that Sonya didn't show up for senior day.

If you read further up this thread it was explained that she had developed a blood clot and was hospitalized.

It is so hard for me to watch this team right now because I know this isn't our real team. When Saturday comes, we will have been without Sonya for 1 month. To be in the position we are in right now is really quite amazing to me. But we are 4 and 2 without her, and 2 of those wins came against teams at the bottom of the conference standings. Vic has done a masterful job getting us where we are right now, but I am concerned about where this all ends if that injury means the end Sonya's college career. Vic did say last week that "Tuesday was her best day", but who knows what that means? We don't even know if she's been able to practice at all over the last month. That's the part that frustrates me the most. Just saying "day to day" is like saying nothing at all.

I may be wrong on the timing but Sonya went to the hospital about 4 weeks ago. From team videos and by traveling with the team to Norman, Sonya appeared to be on the mend and improving. Unless there was a relapse, I don't believe she has made a second trip to the hospital that caused her to miss Senior Night.

If she’s on blood clot medication that can be very tricky and complicated right down to what she eats
