Horns keep putting their "best effort of the year" up over and over for these last seven games and this win streak has put a stamp on the best Texas basketball team since 2008. Win Sunday and they enter the conversation for best Texas basketball team ever.
I've been trying to explain this defense to my wife and she just doesn't get it. It's the most smothering and frustrating defense (for the other team) I've seen in years from anyone anywhere. It gives our offense an opportunity to get through the mediocre moments and dry runs. This team has as good a chance as any to win this whole dang thing driven by this defense.
Dion That is the first thing I thought of, the Cotton Bowl. Was sitting in the end zone near the Cane bench. Never forgot that game. And Miami hasn't changed at all. I hope the Horns show what it is like to win with class.
There’s no crying in basketball, dammit. The only moisture that belongs on the hardwood is the sweat of worthy athletes.
Apparently decided by Andy Katz. Recall the football team was always ranked high in the “power rankings “ last season. It was always a mystery.
It’s definitely our key to success. But fortunately we have players, and more than a few, that can go off. The way Miami manhandled Houston was stunning. When I started watching — at the 8-minute mark, the announcers were calling the game as though it was a foregone conclusion with a 14 point Miami lead. As if Houston had no chance. They were right. I’m just hoping that our D continues to be stellar. Smothering. If so, I feel as though we can give any team potentially more than they can handle.
It was pretty crazy how easy Rice, Hunter and Carr could blow by their guards last night to get to the rim. So happy we didn't just sit back and launch 3's. Also I felt Xavier was not a good matchup for us with their big guy, then when Disu went out, I thought we were doomed. But our D had that guy rattled. He must have missed a dozen point blank shots.
Same. She asked me to explain so I gave an analogy…”You know, smothering and frustrating….like you”. Yada Yada Yada, LC is doing yard work all weekend.

Long story. Some family out here from FW long ago. My late Dad told me one day he looked out the window and said to himself: "what the hell am I doing out here"..... cracked me up.
