The thing that I have the biggest issue with is the reversal. If their second thought was that the Miami player did not intentionally create the collision, how do you not give the Texas player the same benefit of the doubt. (It is my understanding that blocking out by backing into players is ok. It certainly happens a lot.) If they want to change it, change it to a “no-call”. Not a reversal. Cunningham appeared to be blocking and he could not see the player behind him. After watching fouls on Texas all game for trying to create charging fouls that never got called, methinks if it was the other way, that call does not get reversed.
No sour grapes here but I am tired of crappy and sometimes questionable officials in all sports at the high school level and above. There just does not appear to be any accountability any more.

Yeah they called fouls on defense prior game, but reversed the calls this game.

Cunningham was simply blocking out, pressing his butt against the player behind him.
then the guy decided to jump which means Cunningham fell through him going back. so the guy fell over the top of him. if there was a foul at all it was the guy coming over his back which was the initial call. then they reversed it for some reason. (just because the guy hit the floor?) he shouldn't be going over Cunningham's back.
    they botched the call.
so is this how you beat being blocked out, just jump up and over the back then hit the floor?
going over the back of a player has been a foul forever! ......except tonight.

If he's shown to the industry that he's a great coach, other universities will offer him given his situation. Offer large, in fact. Let's see if that happens.

If we pay Terry HUGE $ without anyone else interested in him, then it's a big mistake. If CDC offers him, don't give him or any other coach what others won't. Let this play out.

My guess is there's very limited interest in him right now among other ncaa programs. Let's see if I'm wrong

He'll be the coach, bottom line.

Agree. But After tonight I'm not sure it's the correct move. 11 minutes from a rare final four appearance and he was clueless. The team needed direction

Fickle, Fickle. So what about the lead that they blew the other day and went on to win going away? I guess he was clueless there as well.

The team is going home. Blew a big lead with 11 minutes to go. The coach had no solution to what he faced.

Before he inherited beard's talent, who was going to hire Terry? Answer = not TEXAS.
And now you think he's the answer? Watch the last 11 minutes. It'll provide the clue

Talent that he helped recruit there. And talent that's still coming despite the woman beater getting canned. Again, they blew the same big lead the other day and he seemed as if he had a clue. Deal with it.

Shaka attracted talent, lost to ACU in the first round and never won a tournament game at Texas. Beard built the culture and system part. That will degrade over time. Texas needs a program builder. What evidence is there that Terry can do that?

I thought we choked, period. The players and the coaches. The lack of adjustments defensively boggle my mind. I don't know Miami's personnel, but certainly they had one guy on the floor who we would have preferred to have the ball in his hands other than Wong, who was terrific at creating his own shot, and did so constantly in the second half. Who knows if another strategy would have worked. But what we were doing was getting sliced and diced on every possession.

And yes, the foul call on Cunningham was huge. And it was a horrible call. Basketball is a fast paced game and calls have to be made in the blink of an eye so wrong calls are going to be made. But when an official looks at a replay and still gets it wrong, I just gotta wonder do they even understand the game?

Disu was missed and put Allen in a compromised position. The result was a tired team who lost its offensive rebounding advantage.

Terry will be the coach if, for no other reason, there isn't anyone available that is better than him. CdC might make a run at Dixon, but is he worth more than Terry?

Disu was out. Carr was impaired the final ten minutes. The call on Cunningham was huge but there was another over the back non-call by the same Miami player. Both times it resulted in that player subsequently scoring big points. Miami resorted to pushing off on all pullups and only one was called. It was clear they were doing it. They had a player who was 7-7 from the floor and 13 - 13 from the free throw line.

I don't have a problem with Rodney at all.

Texas is always focused on being politically correct. The announcers and commentators tried hard to paint Texas into a corner all during the tournament. I have no opinion as to the hire, but I do know this, Texas usually rolls over.

    This was my thought.
    They looked tired.
Our shots were bouncing off the front of the rim which is a sign of tired legs.
Sure wish Disu could of played.

I just don’t think he is the guy. D was good, but very poor offensive adjustments, and overall game management. Talent won those games not coaching and the talent is leaving.

I bet we are looking for a new coach in 3 years after 3 mid pack conference finishes and maybe 1 or 2 (at most) tourney invites.

Jury is out on if he can handle UT type pressure, and if he can recruit, jury is not out on if he can coach:

    11 Years, 185-164, .530 W-L%

    .530 INCLUDES this year.

We are talking about a .500 coach.

I really hope I am wrong.

One easy thing Terry could have tried. Put Morris in to defend Miller. Morris wasn't tired and is probably the best athlete out of our guards. He played very well in the first half and didn't get much time in the 2nd. Also needed Dillon Mitchell on the floor more for defense and rebounding at the end.

Not sure a freshman guarding Miller would not have ended up any differently.

Beard went out and got transfers to get us our NCAA win his first year and the elite 8 the 2nd year,. Let's see how Terry does. You are not going to get us there with two freshman recruits.

I don't have a problem either, just do not think he is the longer term solution. He is an excellent AC. Look at his record as a head coach.. That is who he will be here.

No doubt we need transfers. And I wonder if the young ones, even Morris in his 2nd year, will have the confidence Carr had to take that ball and run with it.

We get it. You're really high on Terry. That's fine. His coaching history indicates otherwise but we will see. I hope he wins. Two 5 stars wont hurt but hes gonna need to coach them up and build the rest of the team. Lets see how he does.
