Some self proclaimed "expert lip-reader" released a video and claims that Sonya was saying... "Call me a b_tch again and I'll beat your ***... Honorable Mention." If this is true, then I don't blame Sonya.

However, again... I don't understand all the media hype. It's like poor little Goldie Locks is being threatened by the Big Bad Wolf or something. Big fkng deal. It's hoops. It's physical. Players get chippy and talk **** all the time. Get over it already.

*Yes, I'm aware that's a reference to two different stories.

It reflects poorly on The University.

Plus, she just got grossly out-played and scored in the low single digits. That's some thin ice to stand on talking smack.

It's like a boxer who just got beaten, bloodied, and knocked out for the count, shouting after the boxing match: "I'm going to kick your a$$!"

    Total bush league.

I don't ever recall Jody's players behaving like this.

Your lack of concern for the reputation of The University is noted.

True.... it's a new day though. One to which a lot of us cannot relate. I'm not condoning it, but also not hyperventilating over it. I'm not one to judge this action. Hell, I've swung on someone while on the court for forcefully shoving me in the back and kneeing me in the butt because I kept dealing on them in the paint. That elbow warning I gave them wasn't enough.

Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself and let the consequences just be what they will be. I'll say this though... I didn't have to swing on anyone else. Like the old saying goes, "Shoot one of them in the *** and the rest will run."

Ah well, at least that's in play during the game. Better yet, an old Bill Lambier trick when they're grabbing your jersey or kneeing on you from behind: the foot stomp to the bridge of the opponent's foot. Almost impossible for the refs to call--you were just trying to find your footing and ended up stepping on the other player behind you. No foul, but it's now in the opponent's head, and you're at an advantage for the rest of the game.

Well, she (Jody) won our only National Championship. She set forth a good example of how to run a championship level program with class. An embodiment of UT.

I adore her and I don't think there's ever been a more classy act. There's a lot of things in WBB these days that you'd have never seen on Jody's teams. Times have changed and not necessarily to everyone's taste, but you either change with the times or get left behind.

When you are giving a weak boxer analogy to insult Sonya, are you aware that Sonya played 11 minutes to Haley's 40 minutes? Are you aware that this was Sonya's second game back on the court since February 4th due to what could have been a season ending injury? Are you aware that she was likely playing at 60% of her capabilities since her injury that required her to seek medical treatment at the hospital?

I wish Sonya could have played more against Louisville because it was her last game to suit up as a Longhorn. Before she was injured, she was the leading scorer on the team and she was a key contributer to our wins. For the small amount of time she was at Texas, Sonya will be one of my favorite players to play for the Horns.

You guys that only follow the men's teams and only watch the women's teams once they are in the playoffs need to keep in your own lane when you visit the Women's Basketball Board and start insulting one of our own.

Don’t you just love a “loyal fan” who never shows up on this board to support or garner any information about the team, but runs over here to trash a Longhorn player he obviously knows nothing about and highly doubt ever so her play including the Sweet Sixteen game? I’m sure the little blue eyed blonde girl from Louisville didn’t need or want your defense. She can trash talk with the best of em.

Sonya showed the whole world who she was, and it was a poor reflection on The University. She looked stupid. The coaches should have a discussion with her if they haven’t already. (They probably have)

I had no problem with anything she said. Much to do about nothing. But you're about a week late.

The only thing stupid is the media completely blowing it out of proportion. I’m sure you’ll eventually manage to get over it somehow. She’s a graduating senior and forever a Texas Longhorn no matter what you have to spew about it.

She showed very poor sportsmanship. Players who show poor sportsmanship at the hand-shaking line after the game at UT should be checked by the coach.

She gave an opposing player a great reminder. That's great sportsmanship.

Amazingly, some people actually support such grossly poor sportsmanship. Don’t ever coach kids sports.

She grabbed an opposing players hand in the hand-shaking line, wouldn’t let go, and threatened her, using profanity. And, yes, there were kids nearby. That is off the charts poor sportsmanship. That’s what you might expect to see at OU, UH, or Arkansas.

The facts are what they are. She did what she did. She said what she said. And it was against all sorts of things, such as UT policy, NCAA rules and guidelines, etc.

Anyone who thinks that’s good sportsmanship, is nearly beyond help. That’s a problem that now goes all the way down to parents at little kids’ sporting events.

UT stands for winning, class, and sportsmanship. And has for over 100 years.
