You are correct. I was only looking at it from a stats perspective

Now that the season is over for everyone my thoughts on the state of our beloved UTWBB under Vic:
1 - We won a B12 co-championship, but it was a very mediocre season IMO.
2 - Most realize that the B12 was weak this year (thanks to injuries to BU, KSU, and UT), as was evidenced by the NCAA tournament results.
    3 - We made two Elite 8s.
4 - I don't think anyone else in the country could have taken those rosters of limited talent (yes, LIMITED) and accomplished that (or the B12 co-championship).
5 - The problem is we can't seem to assemble a stronger roster.
6 - We better FIGURE OUT A WAY to get players to come to this university with a wealth of resources, with a winning coach, with a brand new amazing facility, with an opportunity to get a great education, and located in an awesome progressive city.

To be fair, we thought they had assembled a stronger roster with getting two of the best players in the portal this past off season. The problem is that I don't think either player was an ideal fit for how Vic wants to play. In particular Gonzalez because of less athleticism.

Agreed... even Sonya didn't have a lot of ability off the bounce. I wonder if any of the acquisitions led to the departure of Matharu. Whatever the case we've got a lot of work to do.

If Vic hasn't had the conversation yet with the right people on NIL opportunities for WBB players, I'd be surprised. I certainly hope he has. That needs to happen and it needs to be a BIG part of our strategy moving forward. I saw somewhere where Jerritt Elliott's wife was doing this for VB, but I'm not sure to what extent. But everyone in the athletic department better get used to 2 realities: #1 - Our WBB program gets the 3rd most exposure of any program on campus. Yes, even more than baseball. WBB get more than 30 televised games/year, many of which are on ESPN. If you are serious about having a great athletic dept., you can't have an average WBB program. #2 - There are schools that know they can't compete on the big stage in football that will get donors to commit resources to WBB players for NIL deals. And there are WBB coaches that are likely working donors now to try get an advantage in the NIL market. The best way to ensure a level or greater playing field for the best players is to make sure they are taken care of with NIL deals. We are heading to a conference with 2 teams already firmly entrenched now as the "lead dogs" and another that thinks they should be one but probably doesn't have the right coach to be there yet. Vic has navigated that conference before, so he is the right man for the job. But there better be some NIL $$$ backing his play, for both incoming frosh and future portal candidates, or we won't see the team get to where it should be.

I wonder what behind in rehab means to having her available in 2023. Already short for guard play, I was sure planning on Maul being ready. Codio to me was a maybe considering 3 ops. With these two uncertainties, I’m getting anxious for additional guard play. I know Schaefer will get “somebody” but after watching all the tremendous women’s basketball at the upper levels the last two weeks, I’m wanting more than a somebody. It’s April. Next season is almost here. Did I communicate that I’m anxious?
