Ok I’m sure @SabreHorn can answer this. Who were the greatest Texas players who played two sports? I got Johnny Walker.

One that should have but didn't was Tony Degrate. Can you imagine being the batter's box when all 300 pounds of him strides off the mound with that 94 mph fastball. FWIW, he came to almost every home game and stood on walkway behind home plate.

Track opens a bunch of football players

Back in 65/66 there was a TE that played football for four years and used a fifth year on the basketball team to get his degree. (Kelly Baker ???)

Help me out on this one, SabreHorn - if I recall correctly, didn't James Street pitch the only perfect game in Longhorn baseball history?

I don't know the answer to that one. I used to tease him that he wasn't that good but his motion was so awkward that nobody could hit the ball.

Great person, great athlete, great Longhorn. I am resentful over the way he was treated.

I did not know Texas didn't treat Street the way he deserved. Who disrespected him?

HHD, he had a perfect and a no hitter. On 3 April 1970 he pitched the only perfect game in school history. However there is an astrick - it was one of those 7 innings games that used to be played.

^Thanks, Viper. I thought I remembered that one correctly - good to have you validate my memory.
