She’s gotten considerable minutes in both games. I watched both and she seems faster/quicker now than in college but she can be too aggressive on defense and get out of position/allow the occasional clear path to the basket - having Griner back there is a bit of a safety net.

I'll be glad when Vic starts to pull in guards like Sug, Lashaan, and Ariel. We had one in Matharu but... oh well, spilled milk.

I didn't see the first game, but noted on the box score that she played quite a bit.

Excellent! I came here to post this. Watched her game last night and she looked great and played 30 minutes off the bench with 12 points and 6 assists. She looks really comfortable out there.

Now that she’s finished law school, Imani returning to basketball, joining Brooke’s team in the Mexican league. My guess is she’s trying to get into shape and build some good film after a few years away.

Good thing he’s getting paid to coach rather than dance or he’d be broke. :e-face-tears:

We were at the Texas Fall Ball game today and the first team up was St. Mary's out of San Antonio. We sat close to the net, behind home plate and there was a young woman, obviously from St. Mary's setting up equipment for them. This is typically a pitch speed tracker and as well she had an iPad to document types of pitches. Due to our seats, we're use to these young students who work for the opposing teams.

We didn't talk to much initially, but when we asked questions about the status of some players, she answered back, "Mia Scott has a brace on". And then we asked her what her major was and what she wanted to do after school. She was in the sports major at St. Mary. She played softball her freshman year and then medically retired after that. She was in charge of most of all the technical setup for St. Mary's teams which is why she was there and she was going to graduate this year.

Then, she asked if we had tickets to all the Texas sports and we said, "Well, we have football, WBB, softball and volleyball"

A bit later she said, "You know, I'm friends with Rori and went to school with her."

    Wait....Rori Harmon?

She said, "Yeah and I also know Kyndall Hunter"

Interesting. At that point, we didn't talk about Rori but about Kyndall.
    • This gal (never caught her name) played basketball with Hunter when they were in middle school, but she never played high school basketball
    • When Kyndall announced she was going to Texas with Rori, this gal was also wondering, "Hmmmm, how is that going to work out?"
    • She indicated that the morning of her announcement of schools and leading up to the ceremonies, Hunter still hadn't decided which of the 3 schools she was going to pick
    • When I mentioned about her unhappiness with her playing time and relationship with the Texas coaches, she just nodded her head like she understood what we were seeing
    • During this time she said, "Oh yeah, she's now at A&M. But, she tore her ACL"
    • I asked how it was having two PG playing at the same time on the same team and she said, "Well, they weren't the same. Rori is more about passing it on to someone who will score. Kyndall is about pulling back and shooting it from far away. So, they didn't clash with each other"
    • Added that Victoria Hunter was scheduled to attend her school (Cy-Fair) but decided to go to private school instead (St. Pius).

Kind of ironic Abbie Boutilier and Teaira McCowan have the same birthday (today).

Even though Celeste's time at Texas was short-lived, she'll always be one of my favorite TxWBB players. She played with such tenacity and determination. If Celeste's shot wasn't falling, she would find other ways to contribute to the team.

I'm certain Celeste will be a missing piece to Ohio State's success this season. She'll thrive in Kevin McGuff's system. Even though I'm not a fan of OSU, I'll be rooting for Celeste to have a successful end to her college career.

I recall a few of us thought she would be a great assistant coach on the Vic's staff; he certainly was very complimentary of her.

Agree but if she leaves JSU it'll be for a Power 5 HC gig, I'd actually be a bit surprised if schools with shaky coaching situations haven't already put out feelers to her agent.

Edit: With the implosion of the Pac??, I guess I have to get out of the "Power 5" mindset.

Sug hits the game winner at the buzzer for her Turkish team. She was re-signed by the Mercury a few weeks ago. She played really well for them last season, including the first triple double in franchise history.
