    I
I was speaking more about the order of the lineup. I’d rather have Goode play SS instead of Washington since she’s been out so long. Right as I say this Washington has an error. Washington should’ve been playing 1st base.

    Yeah already reverted.

Laly looks good. But, maybe the crowd or just the nerves, it looks like we are out. We are sooooo still in it! Let’s do this Horns!

I’m starting to feel like aggy grandma watching this game.
I’ll need a cortisone injection in the shoulder before this one is over.

Citlaly is doing her job. Our bats are non existent and our approach is not the best. The Tennessee pitcher has below 50 pitches going into the 6th inning :rolleyes1:

Zero adjustments at the plate. Miscues gives the lady vols a 3rd run. This one is close to bent over.

Proud of our team. Return most of the team and the future looks good if Mike can solve the SS problem.

Well we had a great year no matter how you look at it. I hate to see us go out like we did but our youth and lack of playoff experience showed. Our last game is not representative of our season at all. The future looks amazingly bright with our 2024 recruits coming in. I hope Mike can get an elite pitcher out of the portal to go along with Kavan. Simpson is a disaster and Czech is beyond mediocre. We need pitching help if we want to excel next year. You were fun to watch and had a great season! Until next year young horns!

Im going to try not letting this one game define our season but man this one will sting awhile.
First of all Citlaly was amazing. She did more than I was expecting.
She and Mac got next to no run support this weekend. We didn't seem prepared and for me thats whats most dissapointing.
Someone has to explain the lineup changes today. SS is the most important position on the infield but we move nearly everyone around today?? Then we bench her after an error and go back to the regular??
All in all its been a good season and the future looks great. The potential off season changes make me nervous.

A broken record: A new coach just for infield play, please!

Now that UT eliminated, we'll be seeing the trickle of players entering the portal.

Obviously, Mike had conversations with a few players who could have used a bonus COVID year and still may, but just not at Texas. And next week he'll have "exit interviews" with the remaining team to tell them where they stand.

It's obvious Mike will play true freshmen over sophmores and juniors.

The quest for a star SS continues!

    Portal season begins.

Can definitely see some of ours leaving.

No insider info at all, but honestly Scott, Corona, Simpson, Washington, Cimusz, and others wouldn’t surprise me.

Good season Horns. Baylor series and a curious bracket placement hurt us for sure.

I hadn't considered Scott or Cimusz, but it's obvious she's been overrecruited. Corona might stay just because she's a hometown girl who grew up loving the Horns.

I agree about Simpson and Washington. Others with little to no playing time and fresh new recruits coming in: Mya Holmes, Jordyn Whitaker, Maddie Pomykalski (disappeared completely from dugout in her redshirt year), and Estelle Czech.

I'm not rooting for them to leave nor do I have any inside information. It's just these days, it's no longer considered selfish to transfer purely for playing time.

Plus players I never considered leaving Texas have left the team for more playing time and personal happiness.

Cimusz yes but no way Mike White is letting Scott go anywhere. I believe corona is moving on as well as she definitely has been recruited over. I could also see Whitaker, Holmes and possibly one or two more leaving but I’m sure Mike will do whatever he can to get the main core of freshman and sophomore’s to stay.

Corona already participated in senior day right?

Don't see scott or simpson leaving.

As well as Day and Pop, each with a bonus year if the wanted. Mike had a heart-to-heart with them, I think, and they're moving on.

Why did the Baylor series hurt us, did not seem to hurt OSU losing 13 end of season games?

Because they swept us and OSU swept them.

Yeah OSU was over seeded and got lucky in tourney. But if we win the BU series (maybe even just one game) we are likely hosting a supers.

And if we're hosting supers we make it to the WCWS. During the NFCA tournament, one of the announcers said, in a roundabout way, that Mike White wasn't a popular coach amongst his peers in the NFCA. That, plus the way he worked the rules to result in a tie with Kentucky, still chafes some people and played a role in the low seedings. You just have to look at Patrick Murphy and Alabama's ridiculous seeding. I don't mean to be that paranoid, conspiracy theory fan, but the committee had it out for Mike White.

I mean we were ranked 8th in the coaches poll and 10th in the RPI. And to be placed 13th?

You left out we swept OSU which should have had a higher value than Baylor. Sooo, doesn’t that nullifies your Baylor theory.

I mean, MW really would have no say in if Mia wants to leave or not. There were many times this season, especially the last few weeks, where her body language was completely different than last year and she looked like she didn’t want to be out there. I wouldn’t be completely shocked to see her go, but God I hope she doesn’t.

I tried not to speak on it while we were still playing, but it was complete boococky that we were seeded that low. We were setup to fail. I felt really bad for the Ladies cause they deserved better.
The direction of the program is clearly going the right way. The offense, defense, pitching and depth will all be better next year

Quest for a "Star SS"??? Viviana was the best high school infielder a year ago. Most great SS are not great in their first year. We have had some pretty good SS here but none were "stars" as freshmen. I think we are pretty good up the middle with LeighAnn and Viviana. I hope we get a chance to see how good Maddie Pomykalski is too.

He doesn’t have a say but normally when you have a player of her caliber you do what you can to make her stay. With other players who tell you they are leaving you wish them the best. Unless things were bad from a locker room standpoint I really don’t see her going anywhere. I’m also hoping Coffey from LSU enters the portal and reunites with Scott and Brandon since they are all best friends.

    You’re being obtuse but whatever.

My point still stands. We win two of those games against BU, and we’re in OKC next week.

(I even think we could’ve dropped a game or two to OSU and still gotten the same result. Our losses against BU mean more than our wins against OSU.)

Agreed, getting swept by BU heavily outweighed sweeping OSU.

Mia is not going anywhere. She likes third base and not center field. She will be promised that position. She wants to be in on the action and the hot corner is where it’s at!
We lost to a very mediocre Baylor team that was a disaster. The week off hurt us and Baylor wanted to beat Texas BAD! They won there Super Bowl. This gave the NCAA there opportunity to take a dump on Texas and they did. In the NCAA selection show they did not discuss Texas not ONE time! As the show was signing off at the end Holly Rowe mentioned “you didn’t talk about Texas”.
Viviana Martinez had 16 errors this year. Mia Scott had 18 errors last year at third and NO ONE said we needed to fix third last year. Mia had 9 errors this year while playing third probably 80% of the year. Vivi brings a big bat and with that bat comes with her playing SS. She is our SS of the future. Nothing to fix here.
I sat beside an avid Aggie fan at the regionals and I asked him why Haley Lee left to ou. He said they gave her $40k and a new Harley to come to ou. Consider the source but I believe it. If you look at the Mike White post gave interview after our ou series he mentioned what an unfair advantage ou softball had over everyone else because all of their NIL money goes to their football, softball and gymnastics teams. I can tell you our softball players get ZERO $ from the Texas NIL program. Ou is probably the big exception to every other school in the nation.
It was a frustrating year and and a disappointment not going to the WCWS but last year was magic and the future looks amazing!

I read that article too about OU nil money going to like 3 sports. Texas spliting theirs among like 22 sports. I still think winning cures all thats wrong with our program. I took a look at some of the amazing complexes around the SEC, especially LSU, A&M and the new one OU is building. Someday we will get that new facility and you know CDC and Texas will be looking to build something as good or better.

That Utah Softball tradition of team, coaches, AD, school president and everyone associated with team jumping in the pool together after every big post season win has got to be one of the coolest things I've seen this post season. I think Holly Rowe is an allum cause she jumped too..lol

The Harley is not true. Her Grandmother or Mother owned the bike and was going to give it to Haley's brother. But Haley asked what about her and the bike was given to her. This story was reported by ESPN.
