It sounds like CDC and the aggy agree. Right?

I am shocked Aggie wants a 9 game… that means ACU or Prairie View will get dropped off future schedules .
Dude doesn’t sound like Aggie, no joke… he sounds reasonable

If it is an 8 game SEC schedule, then you get one annual rival game. With a 9 game SEC schedule you get three annual rivals in your pod.

Aggy knows if it's a one rival type schedule they would get scraped off the bottom of our shoes like so much collie crap in favor of OU.

Whatever they decide one of two things has to happen; either:

    1) Schools with longstanding rivalries (Alabama/Auburn; Georgia Florida; Egg Bowl) will be played annually as part of conference schedule

    OR

    2) Those games will alternate as conference and nonconference games, but will continue to be played annually.

I have already put in my request that we annually play OU at the State Fair in October and A&M on Thanksgiving night. I don't care if they are considered part of 8/9 conference games or not as long as they are played annually.

Texas' SEC opponents will be revealed June 15 in a primetime special on the SEC network.

So now there is one year for the 8 game conference leaning teams to reshuffle to play a 9 game conference schedule in 2025 - and the rivalries stay intact in 2024. Seems reasonable.

Looks like majority of teams want to keep vs Abilene Christian type schools on their schedule. Weak!

A Smart friend of mine wanted me to point out that victories over "Abilene Christian type schools" should never be taken for granted.

Better have OU, aggy, and Arkansas in that order. The other five I don't care, but preferably not Georgia.

We have had better luck against OU as a nonconference game...

I bet he thought that karate kid analogy was going to sound pretty cool until it started coming out of his mouth.

You could almost see the moment he realized it was some stupid sounding ****.

    Yeah.
I've thought about letting the admin know that I will attend NO aggy game, watch it on TV, or listen to it on the radio. But then reality hits and I realize that other Longhorns want it and I would be the cause of them not getting it.

I still think it's a mistake too. It amazes me how many SEC people I've talked to who think all Texas fans are clamoring for the move. When I tell them I don't actually know anyone truly excited about this they're shocked. The only consolation is that we're leaving the Big 12 just in time not to have to play in Mexico.

The best way to remedy all this conference juggling is to make one super conference consisting of the larger state public universities from the future SEC and Big 10.
A “blue blood”super division I conference if you will.
The private schools and lesser public schools like tech and okie lite could be in a lower level division and have the church schools in their own conference and the other state schools could have conferences based on geographic location.
I just think we are headed that way in the future due to tv revenue and larger budget schools vs. smaller.
And the NCAA could be completely disbanded. They have no teeth or leadership now anyway. The super conference could set it’s own rules and have an enforcement department that could levy punishment for violations.
    Just my dream I guess.

    Bishop,

You realize that DKR & COach Broyles proposed that in the late 60s and it failed miserably?

Thanks Sabre, I had no idea. But that was really great to know that they were light years ahead in their vision of how things “should” have been organized.
Royal was definitely an intelligent coach way ahead of his time.

I agree, the OU game is sacred, the aggy game is "ok whatever."

    Let's be honest.

Probably like some of you, I've thought for a while aggy dreads Daddy being added to the SEC and having to play The University of Texas again EVERY season.

OVER 114 years we owned their asses. Won 2 out of 3 games. Record is 76-34 -5 or something close to that. For aggy, UT is just another "L" on the schedule most seasons.

Aggy would rather lose to Bama, Auburn, LSU, etc. and make excuses than lose to the dirty and hated Sips!

I agree on both points. If playing a game matters instead of hurt feelings, both games will be games of the week and a showcase. Plus Thanksgiving is not the same.
