That I can believe. Just goes to show you should never trust what an aggie tells you. Their story will probably be laced with BS!
Texas Athletics is #1 in the country in NIL deals. Who gets the money? According to local sports radio there is a company out there tracking all of this and this is supposedly where the money goes at UT. Sounds like our softball program is getting paid. #1 - Football #2 - Mens Basketball #3 - Softball . . . . . #10 - Baseball
Thanks for the information. Is there a link to the full list for UT for the other sports in the pay rankings?
Oh wow! If anything I thought the volleyball team would be the highest paid women’s sport followed by women’s basketball then softball.
I think I remember them saying Volleyball was 5th or 6th. I can't remember the name of the company tracking this but if I hear it again I'll find the link and post it.
Yall may remember Alana Vawter pitching for Stanford right now was originally a Connie commit before Mike White took over.
Well Stanford went toe-to-toe with OU and twice had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs.....only to choke it away. For some a understandable reason, the Stanford coach called for a sac bunt from their catcher with no outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, only for the batter to hit a pop-up bunt, easily caught. That is one of the most annoying plays I've seen the horns do. Bunt DOWN geniuses!
Really, it's not that hard. Basic bunting technique is simple and so many do it so poorly. OU got away with one of those pop up bunts.
I hate Oklahoma so much! Stanford in my opinion was the only team who can compete with them. Florida state has some great pitching as well but I don’t see them beating Oklahoma. That Stanford pitcher is the real deal! She’s going to be a nightmare the next few years. I hope Kavan comes in and has that kind of impact since they throw similar stuff.
Stanford is similar to Texas Cat years, that offense was ugly ugly. Good news I see Bahl being similar to Barnhill at Flordia, and getting worse through her career. Texas just needs that strike out pitcher that can get out of any jam.
I don’t really see that comparison. Like, not at all. Is this more wishful thinking or do you see something in their games?
Until the non-ou universe steps up their "rewarding" the amateur leagues coaches, nothing is going to change. NIL can only go so far.
Kavan is a strikeout pitcher whose best pitch is her riseball which is the same for Canady. Both throw in the upper 60’s and are able to fool hitters with their curveball. The only difference between the two in my opinion is Canady doesn’t have a change up but Kavan does and it’s pretty good. She will be the strikeout pitcher Texas needs. She honestly has it all in her toolbox and being 6ft will be a real advantage as well.
What do you mean by “rewarding the amateur league coaches”? Is this what White is always alluding to about OU?
BREAKING NEWS Oklahoma is not the only team to win a national championship tonight. Seeing how they were once part of the Big XII, aggy has already ordered another championship banner.
Potential rule changes. About 1/3 of them will probably be adopted since they are so conservative. Airborne Pitchers, Obstruction Rule Adaptation Notable Among Softball Rules Committee Recommendations - Extra Inning Softball
