True stroy. I had met this girl through mutual friends but we hadn't really talked extensively. She seemed pretty cool though so I asked her out. After I picked her up we were headed downtown and I took the upper deck. I told her it was so that I could check out the stadium and the tower, since they're really special to me. She replied, "oh, I feel the same way whenever I pass by my alma mater, A&M."

I gripped the wheel a little tighter and I guess I was visibly disturbed because she asked if that was going to be a problem. I responded that yes, actually it was an issue and it probably wasn't going to work out between us so I'd save us both a little time and take her back home.

A little time went by and she finally admitted that she didn't go to a&m (Tx St) but enjoyed messing with me. That was 10 years ago (married 8 years) and she still can't believe I was going to end it just because she allegedly went to a&m.

Might seem a little extreme but I figured there are enough women out there that I should be able to find one that won't cause me discomfort/displeasure over something important to me. Whether or not it should be that important to me is a different topic.

Never dated or had a chance to date an aggy chick in my single days. It was almost taboo to me.

Would I have dated one? MAYBE, if she is was a 2%er and hot. If she is / was hard core aggy, HELL NO. Besides, the frequent reminders, akwardness and bizarre nature of aggy tradition, not to mention the clash of two different cultures would surely & eventually DOOM the relationship. T+1 or T day would be a supreme point of diplomacy and being a good sport for me. I suspect at some point, my patience for aggy tradition, ******** and her possibly very annoying aggy friends would wear off and it would bleed into other parts of the relationship.

    Just my .02

Speaking of dating girls, I dated a girl once who was a big Tech fan. She was infatuated with me but I wasn't extremely into to her. So one day she decides to get a tattoo on her ankle. Well we go to the tattoo artist and she lets me pick it out. I had the artist put the words "Hook 'em Horns" on her ankle and covered it up before she saw it. I broke up with her the next day before she ever noticed. I did it because I heard she cheated on me.
I dated another girl who was an Aggy too. She wouldn't watch any Texas vs. A&M games with me, no matter what sport. She refused to acknowledge the football national championship so one day I tied her to a chair and made her watch the Rose Bowl championship DVD until she promised to wear a Longhorns swimsuit. It took 2 times through the game before she caved and she did follow through with her promise. She really looked good in that swimsuit, especially since she has a killer body.

Yes... and only on two accounts!

    1. She was less than a 2%'er and liked sports... and
    2. Looked like she went to school at TEXAS and had a great attitude! [IMG]

Took an good lookin' aggy to DKR about 15 yrs. ago and as we were leaving Scholtz's walking by all the tailgating on San Jacinto and heard the 'EYES', she looked at me and asked me what she was doing going to a 'TU' game? I told her "I didn't know, but that I had a flask and was going to have a great time!" That will never happen again....

Well, I don’t think I have seen a girl’s perspective on here yet, but for me, I would never date an Aggy. I just couldn’t do it. There are tons of great longhorn guys out there that I would have been more than willing to date when I was single.

I guess for some people it may sound shallow, but I live and breathe Texas sports and want to be with someone who is the same way. To me nothing is sexier than a guy in burnt orange singing the “Eyes of Texas.”

I dated an aggy for several months. She was hot and a ***** in the bedroom. But she was too stupid and really conservative and religious (not for me) so i dumped her.

Since I'm married, the answer is no. But, I dated a Sooner once when I lived in Dallas, and it seemed like she always made it a point to talk about how she graduated with a close to 4.0 GPA in accounting, as though she had some inferiority complex about her OU degree.

The key word here is "date". Is this to mean "long-term" date or dating as in once and then maybe a couple of follow ups?

My theory is (full disclosure: I'm divorced - so take this for what its worth) dating an aggy, sooner, red raider, baylor bear, etc... is allowable and should be encouraged. Hell as a student I made it a top priority to have rival school t-shirts, sweat shirts, etc... from gals I slayed. In the course of my "seed sowing" some of them were repeat customers i.e. casual dating. One aggy actually made it to the more serious side of dating (however this was after the undergrad years).

I married a Roadrunner from UTSA who had absolutely no appreciation for anything UT so hence the eventual divorce (in amongst a few other incapatibilities).

My point is date any chica if she floats your boat. But if you want to get serious with her, evaluate your compatabilities vs. incompatabilities first and be honest with yourself. Trust me it will save you thousands in attorney fees.

    I'm out!!!

    No.
    *******.
    Way.

In fact, when I first met the man I eventually married, I was very suspicious of him after he told me he grew up on a Central Texas cattle ranch. Only after I asked him, "So I suppose you like the Aggies ...?" and he replied, "I hate Texas A&M. I like the Longhorns," did I realize he was a keeper.

I have been out of school for about 10 years, I have met several A&M grad women that I would consider cool.
It doesn't take long to figure out the annoying aggy ones. A&M girls in their late 20's or early 30's that still refer to UT as TU or say "so your a T-sip" are easy to spot. That is the kind of stuff that would drive me crazy and would end up being a deal killer.

PS. A normal girl that just happens to have attended A&M is just fine. I don't need a girl to like the same sports teams as I do.
