Do you think they should be seated? How? Do you think they will be? If they are, does this negate the Party's ability to mete out punishment for similar actions in the future. In my opinion, MI and FL made their beds. All of the candidates running at the time, including the two front-runners, agreed with the Party's decision. I think it will be a mistake to seat them now. I wish Dean would stand up to Clinton and tell her to stop pandering for this supposed votes. It's convenient to try to get that delegation seated when you're losing and the leader is not. The whole issue stinks of hypocrisy. On the other hand, not seating FL and MI could hurt the Party's chances in November. So do you do what's good for the Party or what's right? I say do what's right.
Well if you're going to be the party howling at the raftors that every vote should count be it legal or not then I think you gotta seat them and count their votes. It doesn't matter if it is a primary, or whatever. You either are the party of every vote counts, or you're now the party of every vote counts as long as they count the way we want them to count.
Silly to punish the people of Florida and Michigan, when Iowa, NH and SC also violated the rules (granted, in reaction to Florida and Michigan moving up their votes). Let them vote. It won't change the outcome, but it gives Obama a chance to go there and court them and for them to swoon over his attention. If the goal is to win the election in November, the DNC leadership is silly to punish and isolate Floridians and Michiganders.
Florida should be seated. Michigan should be half-seated with Hillary receiving 100% of her vote and the remaining people can decide who they want to support, but should not automatically be given to Obama anymore than they should be given to Kucinich.
