My idiot friend is getting married in ISRAEL on Christmas Eve. I'm actually considering it since they have a direct flight from HK. My question is this - does the whole city shut down like london (dont go to london over xmas nothing is open for a week) or can I still do tourity stuff on the 26/27/28 in Israel? I've already been to Tel Aviv and it is awesome - wouldnt mind going again.
I'm pretty sure you can do just about anything on the days after. I was there Christmas several years ago and did tons of touristy stuff. If nothing else, do yourself a favor and go to the beach in Eilat, or go see the Dead Sea and hike up to Masada. I don't think things need to be "open" to enjoy those things. Israel is amazing. I'm jealous.
