Lonesome Dove. Its an epic classic. Its a western. There's a whole lot of whiskey drinkin'. It lasts 6 and a half hours.
Of course, any list of marijuana-related movies would have to start with Up in Smoke. Also, Harold and Kumar, Reefer Madness, and Easy Rider. Oh, and Bill and Ted's excellent adventure, I guess.
Best movie to drink Southern Comfort and smoke marijuana while watching: "The Rose," life story of Janis Joplin.
Ha! Best movie to do heroin and speak in a disaffected Scottish accent while watching: Trainspotting.
Agree the list was solid. Agree with Mad Men. Agree that drinking bourbon with any movie is good. I took some tonight in a flask to drink at the movies. I would add Mountains of the Moon. Story about Sir Richard Francis Burton seeking the source of the Nile. Even though he wasn't a Texan, he had a very high IQ and he was a ladies man and a total stud.
Good call on Lonesome Dove. I was thinking the same thing. You could polish off a fifth watching the whole thing. Another one that comes to mind: The Usual Suspects.
Silverado. Whenever it gets to the scene where Danny Glover goes into the saloon and asks for whiskey, I have an urge to pour a glass. More usually follows after that.
In college, a friend and I decided it would be a good idea to take a shot of Knob every time some one got killed in Young Guns....bad idea!
