    Rivals has him 14.

    What does Scout have him?

ESPNU has him 149. That's ridiculous. [IMG]

It reminds me of a quote from Coach Royal before the 1969 season. A sports writer was talking to Coach Royal and admitted that QB James Street was a great runner but what about his passing skills. Coach Royal answered (referring to himself and his assistant coaches) "I don't know how others rate him. He pleases us."

    A great understatement indeed! [IMG]

I don't worry too much about Rivals or ESPN or anybody else. All that counts is what Mack thinks and he has proven himself to me.

Not knowing much about recruiting, ESPiN thinks it is the pro basketball player trying to play football now. They are confused.

I think ESPN rates players higher that are playing in their all star game than those playing in the Army All American game. There are some they can't deny being better, such as Gillbert, but if you check the DE, DT, LB, and other positions you'll probably find they rate them lower. It's the only reason I can see for Okafor being 5* in one service and bottom dweller in another. Someone with more time can check and compare to see if this is true.

yeah earloftexas has a good point...some other names are like paden kelly being ranked 27 on espn but no where to be found on rivals...jmark is 51 on espn compared to rivals 20, those are some texas examples at least

is hevreally 216 lbs? espn says he needs to gain weight before contributing, most everything else is very positive. they may just be going off an evaluation from last summer

First off, orakpo arrrived on campus at 210 lbs. Secondly, he's a sold 235-240. He is a beast. ESPN has no idea what they're talking about.

Orakpo was 235-240 a couple of years ago. He is listed at 260 now, and he looks like it.

I was saying that even if Okafor was 216 that Orakpo was ven smaller than that when he arrived on campus, and you see him now. Secondly, I have interviewd Okafor a few times this year and covered some Pflugerville games for my job and he is at least 235.

all from junior year. most from playoff games against good schools and some traditional powehouses like Klein Forest, Temple, Longview, Abilene, Katy, Dallas Carter, Judson. Leander, Stony Point- yeah, his P-Ville team played all of them last year. he will be as D-1 ready as almost anyone.
