well i think they did kinda explain how i think the Dharma Initiative initially found the island., either them or the original inhabitants (the others)

i have a question, if the island is always moving like the old lady said, then how come the dharma people have always been able to get there by sub and of course the other visitors by various means. why did they need to take that random flight?

i think it's because that random flight was going through the "window" to where the island was at that time/flash. the island is constantly moving all over the place, Dharma used that station to find out where it would be and what time it would be there, that's how they got to and from the island. just my guess.

The sub is gone so they can't go easily back and forth anymore. I don't know why they can't purchase another one when money seems to be no object.

This episode was ********. Every scene started after an unexplained event:
    What happened to Aaron?
    What happened to Sayid?
    What happened to the plane?
How did Ben get all beat up?

Next week isn't supposed to be any better, IMO. Its about what happened to Locke after he left the island. We know he wound up hanging himself and Jack brought him back to the island so I don't need the back story. Right now there are about 1000 other things I'd rather have answers to and they are running out of episodes.

I can guarantee you that Ben got all beat up trying to kill Penny. He had told what's his name that he was going to kill his daughter, and he was calling Jack from a dock. Whether he was successful or not is the only question.

ben was shocked when he saw desmond last episode. now he knows penny is probably there, too. ben figures this is his time to kill penny. when he leaves jack, he says "i made a promise to an old friend" (kill his daughter)

so who beat up ben? desmond or penny (most likely des). the question is going to be, what happened to penny. was he successful? desmond knows how to get back to the island now. maybe he gets widmore involved. maybe eloise tells him penny will be alive on the island. also, ben is a guy that can take a beating as well as dish one out. i think he got messed up in the struggle.

*another thought is that widmore told des to keep penny out, knowing des would bring penny with him. widmore has ppl following penny/des to find the island. when ben goes after penny, widmore's guys attempt to take care of him. ben obviously didn't think it would be as tough as it was.

I thought last night's episode was great. Locke's letter to Jack had to hurt baaaaaad.
Of course the big question from last week: how do Jin, Faraday, and that gang infiltrate Dharma (or at least appear to)? If they're jumping around in time every couple of hours, how did they get involved so quickly.
Smaller question: what is up with the Indian guy on the plane who told Jack, "Sorry for your loss." They showed him a couple of times on the plane, so I know he has some significance. Possibly working for Widmore?

Are we sure Jack/Kate/Hurley all are back on the island in "real time"? I found it unusual that the blue van that Jin was driving looked brand new. I am not convinced he knew who Hurley was, but rather had the surprised look on his face because Hurley knew his name.

I think Jack/Kate/Hurley are in Dharma time and thats why Jin is wearing the jumpsuit and the van looks new(er). Jin jumping through time doesn't affect his memory - - I believe he was just shocked to see them.

I believe 10 left this season, 16 next season and thats it. Anyone know what happened to the poster Hank Kingsley? He was a LOST beast and I'd love to get his thoughts . . .

I thought it was kind of funny when the helicoptor/airplane captain looked around the caban and said, "were not going to guam, are we?"

The time jumping stopped when Locke fixed the wheel.

gotta love frank lapidus! i hope he got back to the island too, that's a great character.

chango, that's what I think too. when the flashing stopped, the leftbehinders were in the Dharma time period. I think that's where they've been the last 3 years so they've established themselves with the DI.

The other weird thing is that Sun didn't seem to mind leaving her baby behind knowing that she probably won't be able to leave again.

I think Kate left Aaron with Claire's mom. You guys are probably right about Ben, Desmond, and Penny. Would be crazy if Desmond and Penny join Penny's dad.

Ben might not have made it back to the island, since it was said before that whoever turns the wheel can never go back.

Do you think Sun thought she wouldn't return? I'm not sure about that (could be wrong) because she seems like she's going with the intent of getting him off the island.

I wondered about the Aaron thing - as traumatic as it was, my guess is she felt like she failed somehow in whatever she did, or else there was another one of those weird visitations that convinced her to do it - which for some reason no one wants to admit to! Whatever it was, apparently she either thinks it was a sorry reason to leave him behind or she sees it as a failure on her part.

That brings up another discussion as well - did anyone else think that Kate's attachment to Aaron had started to take on a very selfish tone? Rather than give him up, she was going to go on the run again and turn him into a fugitive, she constantly uses him to beat Jack up, and she seems to want to imply that no one else but her cares about his well-being. It's almost like she's using Aaron to validate herself as a reformed person. It may well be that she gave him up partly because she was starting to get that as well.

not that anyone would forget what a bad guy Ben is, but when Hurley asks what will happen to the other people on the plane and Ben replies, "who cares," you are reminded of his obesession and evil.

there needed to be about 3 years of time that would have passed by for the people on the island by the time everyone comes back to the island, so they would have had time to adjust to whatever time they land in once Locke fixed the wheel

I thought it was funny that even Ben slapped her down last week when he just said "Kate, he's NOT your son." I think that set her off more than anything, that he of all people reminded her that she really has no legitimate claim on Aaron.

Good point, and that's certainly true. I could definitely see her losing sight of things in three years - I mean by that time, she was clearly as close to a mom as Aaron had and probably ever would have. At the same time, though, she seemed to have that attitude even when she got off the island. Part of it definitely was a feeling of responsibility for sure, but I do think that she almost became obsessive at times.
