Ahh, crap. NU did that to themselves. They managed two baskets in the last 16:55, mostly because they were working the clock but then stupidly trying to drive to the basket and force something over taller defenders. Then there was the Harvey pass to no one when NU was up 5 with 2 minutes to go, Dagunduro and Miller combining to make 1 free throw in a 2 shot and 1 and 1 opportunity, and Dagunduro getting to the ball in the scrum at the end and just flinging it down court out of bounds when he could have controlled it. Nebraska just collapsed. Period.
Well said, you can't waste the shot clock every trip down, then settle for a rushed shot before a violation. Poor coaching in the second half, Ags made some shots late and got a big break.
Yeah, it helps when your opponent decides not to guard the three point line (like we decided to do against NU).
No matter how badly Nebraska played in the 2nd half, the "time out" call (instead of jump ball --> Nebraska) and the "out of bounds" call near the end of the game, were rediculous.
The refs did blow the out of bounds call but as someone stated, that was a bogus technical. Walkup hung on the rim because the NU guy cut under him, then he let go the second it was clear. They did get the double dribble right on Sloan (?) near the end but he made up for it with that 3 at the buzzer. So the refs didn't give this game to the ags, the Huskers did but not hitting jack in the 2nd half. Give credit to a&m, they played hard and never quit.
That last call wasnt a bad call it was a close call. If you blow an 18 point lead and let the refs hurt you on a close call thats your own fault. We got several bad calls early in the game including a double T for a guy looking down and hanging on the rim after a full stride dunk so as not to kill himself or someone else. I will say for the Huskers though that was a horrible series of events that allowed us to win it late. We got lucky.
