I cant remember the name of the restraunt, but it is the sports cafe inside the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. They make a burger that has a blend of regular beef and Kobi beef. It is pretty tasty.

Twisted Root in Dallas is pretty good, Angry Dog in Dallas has great hot dogs and burgers, Snuffers are all over and not bad. There are a lot more places with good burgers than BBQ the metroplex.

Kincaid's in Fort Worth. Al's (corner of Green Oaks and Collins) on the north side of Arlington.

Keller's on Northwest Highway@Abrams. Especially if you think your dad might enjoy the nostalgia of an old fashioned drive-in with burgers made the same way they did "back in the day"

I went to the Snuffer's in Southlake and I was really disappointed with the burger. It was coated in salt. Almost inedible.

Kincaid's in Fort Worth is the champ of the Westoplex, but there are some up and comers. Dutch's near TCU, for example. I've always really liked Tommy's (I-30 and Green Oaks + other locations).

If you find yourself really far west, Skinny's in Weatherford is awesome. Great burger, great milkshake. I make a Sunday road trip out there every couple of weeks to get a 1/2 lb Skinny burger with cheese and a chocolate shake.

I've never been impressed with anything I've ever had at Snuffers. I love the Angry Dog's burger. Simple but classic.

Indian Creek Golf Course. Trust me. Most of your golf courses are going to be hidden gems for burgers...same can be said for older pharmacies and bowling alleys. There's an old pharmacy off of Knox (I think) that I can't remember the name of....they do pretty damn good burgers. Good luck w/ your search.

It's Wingfield's, but you would have to be willing to go the hood and eat in the car or take the burgers to go. The place is in Oak Cliff, a bit out of the way, but damn. There is nothing like it.

Rick's Chop House in McKinney is not a burger place, but they have an awesome hamburger on the menu.

I haven't lived in Dallas for almost 30 years, but I loved Keller's on NWHwy and Abrams when I was there. It's the only thing I miss about Dallas and I miss it terribly. Haven't had as good of a burger since and it's not for lack of trying. Nothing like an ice cold longneck, tots, and one of their delicious burgers served up curbside by a gnarly waitress on a hot summer evening in Big D. My taste buds are going crazy just thinking about it.

Stan's Blue Note has taken over where Snuffer's has left off.

I have had issues with Snuffer's direction the past few years. The cheese fries and restaurant in general have jumped the shark.
