No, can't use a shaving brush with Edge gel.

    Bayou, you are correct.

The brush mixes the hot water with the shaving cream or soap as you skim the brush back and forth across your face and neck in and up-down motion. The combination of hot water mixing with the cream/soap delivers a thicker, richer, more emollient lather that’s impossible to get with your fingers alone. The up-down brushing lifts your whiskers and suspends them standing upright in the thick lather, which exposes the maximum whisker length to your blade as it skims along your face.

I've noticed that since I began using a brush that I have been getting a much closer shave with less irritation. I still use a Mach 3 during the week since I'm usually in a hurry.

I've also noticed that more people are buying me daiquiri's now than before. [IMG]

shaving soap, badger hair brush, and a mach 3 here... Haven't had the time to learn to use a safety razor. However, I'm sick of paying out the whazoo for the cartridges - my mach 3 days are numbered.

I shave my head and face. The best thing I have found is shave both in the shower. Most of the time I simply use my Mach 3 Turbo... and the hot shower steam. Afterwards I get out and use Bump Stopper 2- which is for black men. *note: I am 100% pure honky. It works miracles. After the first 3 days of using it I never got any skin irritation, NO razor burn, NO nicks, and have not had a single ingrown hair on my face or neck. I never get them on my head with or without it.

There was a tingling on my scalp and under my chin which didn't turn red or anything but I could tell I had put something on that was different. At first I thought I was screwed for messing with the black man's cream... but it only did that the first two times and after that there was nothing. But Bump Stopper 2 works miracles.

This stuff really works....and it's inexpensive too. < $3/bottle I thought it was a cheap gimmick but damn it really does work and I have never gotten a closer shave. I use the Mach 3 blade. I can keep the same razor for a month while shaving every day.

I learned what a shower comb and a green toilet are in a couple of contemporaneous threads, bearing a similarity to this one.

There is a very helpful series of videos on the science of face shaving on youtube. Search for Mantic59. Good stuff by an obsessive shaver.

I could not find the Yellow or Purple label. I got the Green label which was not very impressive. I will keep an eye out.

The only thing that I do not like about King of all Shaves is its transparent so tracking your shave is pretty difficult.
