On this day In 1889 hard working honest people waited for the signal to begin the Oklahoma Land Rush.

Obvious observation #1 - When a group of people are proud of those who cheated...They themselves are 100% likely to cheat as well.

Never ceases to amaze me that these people glorify the cheating spirit of their state to this day. Never mind it was officially deemed the crappiest bit of land on the continent.

 

You shall be judged by the role models you adopt.

 

True story - I lived in Oklahoma from 4th-7th grade. On this day, we essentially got the day off school (I can't remember if it was all elementary school or just the 4th grade at my school)...and we had our own cheating land run, where we had to go claim part of the land outside.

Thank god I moved to Texas.

Your best bet is to get up nice and early, preferrably around 8:30am. Next, dig out a flare from your garage. At precisely 8:59am, hop your neighbor's fence and throw a stake in his yard. Yell, "Boomer!", as loud as you can just as you shoot off the flare into the air.
