How is it that ou can hold so much and, get away with it?
It's even on the local news cast up here in oklahoma.
You would think they would show other footage of the game.

Hey, you could be onto something. I wonder if anyone else has ever noticed this phenomenon?

The Big12 is the worst about calling holding.
I used to wonder why McWorther was not coaching our OL to take advantage of this as much as possible.

but then I saw OU's last several postseason appearances where there were non-Big12 zebras officiating....

This has been going on for ever. Watch when they have a big play, always a hand holding.

Let's just not discuss OU's penchant for holding, but let's also discuss how they keep getting away wilth illegal linemen being downfield on those WR middle screens. Go back and watch the Texas game and you'll see that everytime they run this play, some of their linemen are five yards or more downfield preparing to block when the ball is thrown and caught past the line of scrimmage. How they keep getting away this, I don't know. It's not even close either. The only way this is legal is if the receiver catches the ball behind the line of scrimmage, and that is never the case.

I for one am glad this has been brought up. IT IS a real problem and they get away with it WAY to much.

Is it possible that Brian Orakpo was held on at least 60% of his plays throughout last season?

    Hmmmmmmm

There's okie rules, and the rules the rest of us play by. Actually, okie gets penalized for not holding.

C'mon, y'all, we're talking about a state whose oldest tradition is cheating their neighbors out of land. OU likes cheating so much that they named their mascot after it. Why, then, should we be surprised that Kevin Wilson would school his OL charges so thoroughly in the art of cheating?

If they'll load their DL with kidnappers, drug dealers, bushwackers, and coat-stealers, then they're certainly not above fielding a bunch of man-huggers and grab-assers on the OL.

I wonder what OU's overall record would be beginning from the Switzer era to present if it was impossible for them to cheat in any form on or off the field? No recruiting violations, no paying players, holding being called, and the way the voters voted last season, it makes you wonder even if they have a few of them in their hip pocket.

I'm guessing their biggest rivalry would be with Baylor and Aggy.

You guys are so funny! You should be going after the officials. If OU is "blatantly" holding and not getting flagged.....it's the referees that aren't doing their job. How many of you speed, then turn yourself in because the highway patrolman didn't stop you? Have you stopped speeding because you know it's wrong? Have you stopped speeding because you haven't been caught? OU will not stop what they are doing until the officials step in.....otherwise, everything OU is doing is acceptable.

Ah, the OU "we get away with it so it has to be OK" defense. I knew it wouldn't take long to get a rationalization out of Norman on this thread.

OUE didn't disguise his lack of any logical argument very subtly. But good job on the copy-and-paste from google images.

I wonder if the fact that OU was called for holding almost 5x more than their opponents were last year (& this includes 7 straight full games worth of game time) has any relevance here. [IMG]

    Prolly not...... [IMG]

Why stop if your not going to be called for it? Hell i would do it to. Thats how the games played you take it as far as you can. See what there going to let slide and what there not.
