Top of the list: Dora and Diego. What the hell is it with them about saying "backpack"? People used to ***** about Barney all the time; he's easy.

I'm not thrilled with the foursome on Noggin that just showed up this week. They look like a bunch of Disney rejects.

Meanwhile, "Spongebob" is the greatest show on TV.

My son is now 9, so he's many years removed from the likes of Dora and Blue's Clues, but I really didn't care for those two. I never understood why the voices always only said, "there," when they were directing the guy to the clue. An "educational" show so regularly missing a chance to increase vocabulary? And Dora was just too formulaic.

George Shrinks and Sagwa were pretty cool.

I hate Calliou, Yo Gabba Gabba, Ruby and Max. Dora can get on my nerves because so much of it is repetitive, but I know that my daughter learns a lot from it so I put up with it.

I have to admit to liking Sponge Bob, but that was a couple of years ago. There aren't any that grab me at this time. I still tune in to the occasional Rocky and Bullwinkle rerun, though.

I second SpongeBob Squarepants as being awesome! I even catch myself sometimes watching it by myself even when the kids have gone off to play or do something else. The storylines and characters can crack you up from time to time. You have SpongeBob who is always so happy and positive, his slow but hysterical buddy Patrick Starfish, his cranky neighbor and co-worker Squidward Tentacles, his greedy boss Eugene Krabs, Eugene Krabs' restaurant rival Plankton (can't remember his full name), and you can't forget about Sandy the Squirrel who is full of love and pride of her beloved Texas. Who can't love a show where you have a character that shows so much pride in her native Texas?!? Awesome show indeed.

The interesting thing about spongebob is that it captured my son's attention at age 4 or so and is still going pretty strong at 7. I'm also a fan of Phineas and Ferb, don't mind Fairly Oddparents and there are some episodes of the Super Saturdays that I've enjoyed. Pokemon seems to be fading a bit for him and I'm all for that going away--I expect that could be a summertime thing, though, and once he's back to school it will return.

Many of these shows have quips that adults will only get like Fairy Odd Parents. Writers must have grown up the 80's. It really has some clever humor.

My vote is for Penguins of Madagascar. I usually tell my kids to put the remote down if they try to change it.

Phineas and Ferb is great. Spongebob too.

Wonder Pets is hilarious. You can't get the damn song out of your mind. I think they pretty much have a show generator that they use. The show is the exact same with different animals.

    1. Select animal to save.
    2. Select location.
    3. Generate Show.
    4. ???
    5. Profit.

My kids are also real into iCarly right now. It's a good show. I've been busted watching it by myself... (Spongebob, too..)

At my age I share the TV with the grandkids. I've had to turn over my tapes and CDs of the old Warner Brothers and Popeye cartoons I grew up on. An a lot of Hanna-Barbera stuff too.

There is a ton of stuff on the Cartoon Network and on Nick that is terrible. Not only is it poorly written and almost pointless the art work is dreadful. The hacks turning out this shlock couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler.

Hate Calliou. HATE. The only redeeming factor is you will turn off your television rather than watching.

The Upside Down Show on Noggin was greatness.

The fact that it was canceled while Dora and Diego are still going strong is criminal.

max and ruby: (Hate it, hate it, hate it. What's with the retro '30s baby rabbit being raised by his sister. WTF?)
blue's clues: (Used to hate it, but it grew on me)
wonder pets: (Agree with the formula comment)
moose a. moose (except for two songs)

    but I enjoy

    backyardigans
    mickey mouse club
    handy manny
love the cho-cho soul on disney (Like the intro song but that's about all)
imagination movers (not a cartoon) (When I first saw them I just KNEW they were from the South; turns out they're from New Orleans)

Probably my favorite two are Wow Wow Wubbzy and Little Einsteins. And I don't mind Oswald if I don't have to pay too much attention. I didn't realize The Upside Down Show got cancelled (while Dora/Diego lumbers onward). That IS criminal.

Seems like the Laurie Berkner Band has replaced that Zane guy as the "Greenwich Village Cool Guy Who Couldn't Make It As A Bonafide Folk Singer So He's Shifted Over To Kids Songs" role.

Yeah, my oldest was watching Caillou for a while back in '06 and we stopped that after he started picking up all his whiney B.S. Hate that show.

Not a fan of Mickey Mouse, either. I cannot stand his voice.

    Their favorites:

    Handy Manny
    The Backyardigans
    Word World
    Word Girl (Pretty funny, actually)

They HATE The Wiggles and I am happy about that. I refuse to let them watch Barney.

There's not a single cartoon on today that I consider as good as the top 10 cartoons that were on in the early 90s when I was a kid.

Seriously though, how can Looney Toons not be in syndication on some channel somewhere. It blows my mind that my kids don't have the opportunity to love Bugs and Elmer.
