i just really love hurricanes and was already checking the NHC daily waiting for a big one to come along and figured id share any updates.
wrong...i not only did not make that suggestion, i explicitly denied it and i think it would be a stupid conclusion to draw from a quiet season. you are creating strawmen of your own fantasies, but i have nothing to do with them. you can keep trying to have arguments with the caricature of me that you have created, but that doesn't mean i have to agree with your lousy points and your utter lack of logic or ability to follow a discussion.
i don't get it. are you saying i am not responding how Jesus would? have you ever read the gospels? have you seen how Jesus responds to those who refuse to hear him? is there something i have said that isn't true?
well...he can be very harsh. he calls the pharisees "white washed tombs" and explains that they look great on the outside but are full of death on the inside. he also calls them a "brood of vipers" and tells them that their father is satan. he is not "nice" all the time. now...i am NOT Jesus remotely (because i can just imagine how this will go next)....but GT asked me "WWJD?" in response to my calling him out for his distortions. my response is that Jesus called people out for distortions of the truth.
now this is interesting stuff..... tropical storms not increasing... funny in light of quotes like this from Texoz:
fair enough GT, loving is more than just telling the truth (although that is part of it). i will work to love you better......but i would appreciate you working to not distort what i say so often too. regardless, my call is to love you either way....so i sit corrected.
Texoz- I'm sure you will refute me, and I fully admit I do not know the science. However, you said the following:
texoz...you are using ad hominem against landsea and it is fallacious. beyond that, you make reasonable points that i don't have an answer to. it is strange that it is not affecting the tropical storms if what you suggest is true. then again, we do know from Nasa's buoys that the oceans have been flat to losing heat for the 6 years that NASA has been monitoring them.....so maybe it is just that the oceans aren't warming?
noaa's buoys only measure water temperature up to one meter below the surface. hurricanes gain strength when they pass over water that is warm deep underwater. katrina was a bit of bad luck since it is theorized to have passed concurrently with a warm core ring that spins off the gulf stream every now and then. btw, one TD and another storm with a high probability of forming into a TS in the atlantic basin
Texoz- You may be right, i really don't know. I do know that you and others always shoot down any information if it doesn't come in a scientific peer reviewed publication. Apparently this was. So at least some other scientists agreed with the data or methodology or whatever.
How's that song go? "A-B-C. It's easy as 1-2-3." The Link Ana Bill Claudette Bill is one to watch. It's a huge storm and has the potential to reach major status. Current tracks have it missing the East Coast, but it's early still.
jesus christ, mop, don't you remember battleship texas's "piddly little hurricane" thread? what do you think you are doing?
for the record, this was still like the 2nd or 3rd latest start to a tropical storm season on record. i never said there wouldn't be any....i was just pointing out the lateness of this season being interesting in light of no one talking about it, whereas if the opposite had happened (an early season) we would have gotten countless articles on it. my original point still stands and can not be shaken due to the simple fact that this was in fact the 2nd latest start to a season in like 150 years of record keeping.
