Who is that doing the morning show with Hogan now? I used to enjoy listening to him and Rosenthal, but the new guy is somewhat bad. Who is he?

Dan Neil was on yesterday if that is who you are referring to.

This morning is some guy named _______ Foster. From what little I heard before I got to work he's an attorney and is on the Alamo Bowl Board of Directors. He was very underwhelming.

Hogan did announce that Dan will be his full time sidekick this fall. I like Dan, so not a bad move. I also liked Mike Rosenthal, but I don't know whether he is coming back to 1530.

Yeah, it was the guy this morning. Me likes Neil. Thanks.

I heard Hogan say that Dan Neil would be on full-time from now on, but I didn't hear any mention of Rosie. Seemed strange.

Rosenthal has 4 young kids and is very active in running a kids athletic clothing store (he's there regularly helping kids with shoes, clothes, etc.). From what I've heard getting up for an early morning radio show and the prep/time commitment was too much. He said on his last day on the show that if he had 2 more hours in the day he could continue doing the show.

On an unrelated note, I recently watched highlights of the 1996 Texas v. Nebraska Big XII title game, and I had forgotten how Dan Neil absolutely hammered a Nebraska lineman that set up Preist Holmes' long TD run in the second quarter. Dan was a beast.

Rosie and Dan are pretty similar guys in background, character and stature. Both great guys and knowledgeable. I think the show will transition well.

Dan Neil is one of my favorite OL from UT. But I liked Rosey on air a ton. It's too bad.

I liked Rosie just fine, as long as he wasn't slobbering all over ND while trashing Texas in the process (which, in fairness to Rosie, wasn't really all that often).

I like rosie as well but Dan will be a good replacement.

Erin will keep that show on track hopefully

1300 in the morning is unlistenable

I liked Rosie a ton too but, remembering back to when he started, it took him a little while to get in the groove. Hopefully Dan will be there too.

Erin is a good host but sometimes talks too much and doesn't give the others air time...he's too concerned about getting HIS point across. Still, much better show than the other station.

Dan has plenty of insight. He's one of those smart O-linemen. And he has his opinions so I'm sure he'll speak his mind.

Didn't Dan do an afternoon show on 1530 a few years back? I think he will do fine.

It's amazing how 1530 AM has just kicked the **** out of KVET 1300 in the last year. I agree, I liked Rosenthat, but honestly, my day doesn't get going 'til 9 anyways. I love the Heard (Dan Patrick to me is unlistenable), and I absolutely love the bottom line Chip Brown and Sean Adams. The afternoon show is okay, as I still think Geoff Ketchum is not a radio guy. Then I like Jeff Ward and Ed Clements at 6 if I'm still out and about.

I'm just glad it's football time. AM radio and football (especially college football), are so sweet together. Even though I listen all year, I many times wonder why I do when it's not football season....I sometimes think I'm the only one that listens to AM, but I guess not as seen by this thread....
