I've been listening to AM radio for about 12 years now, and I have to say that I enjoy "The Bottom Line" with Sean Adams and Chip Brown as much as any show I've ever listened to. The only bad thing is that it's from 2-4 in the afternoon, so I must feel I need to drive around to listen to it, thus leaving work, ESPECIALLY during UT football season. Those 2 are as knowledgeable as any duo in the city, with great insights, and great contacts within the program. I like Ketchum for that matter, but I can't stand listening to the guy. He was horrible with Jeff Ward, and he's still bad now. I really think it's only a matter of time before Sean and Chip move to the more popular 4-6 spot. Maybe because Ketchum runs Orangebloods (they're a huge sponsor), that's the only reason they haven't yet? I still like E. Hogan in the morning, and Jeff Ward is the best, especially with Ed Clements. I used to love when Ed would bring Jerry Scarbrough on to talk. Anyways, at least it's freaking football season again. I can't believe I listen to AM radio when it's not football season. Someone remind me why again?

Babers just sounds like he's having fun while Brooks sounds like he's reading directly from a set of notes

he will consistently list stats and numbers w/o actually having any substance to what is being said. He'll talk about a player like he's reading his bio rather than actually having an opinion

unpainted, you hit the nail on the head. That's just one of the things that drives me crazy about Ahmad. Another thing is when his arguments make no sense. For example, Ahmad went on and on yesterday talking about how Bruschi (sp?) should get the HOF nod over Zach Thomas at the LB position. His argument was only valid in saying that Bruschi played on three Super Bowl winning teams.

Madani pointed out to Ahmad that Thomas had over 1700 tackles in his career (more than any current LB in the HOF) and he made seven Pro Bowls, while Bruschi was nowhere close in tackles and only had one Pro Bowl appearance during his career. Ahmad challenged that by saying that Bruschi had all of these other great players surrounding him that took tackles and plays from Bruschi. How did that make any sense? If that's the case, there are a whole lot of Cowboys from the 70s and 90s that should make the HOF, other than the ones that we already know have made it or should make it.

How anyone can listen to the afternoon show on 1300 is beyond me. I try flipping over during commercials on 1530 every now and then and it is nothing but 5 (seems like 10) people yelling over each other, none of them actually making a point. Ketchum may be annoying, but at least with he and Chad you don't feel like you are in a room with 10 3rd graders all talking at the same time. They also have very good and entertaining guests.

As for B&E, when they first split, I really missed that show. But once E. found Mike, I forgot all about Bucky. I thought they were just as entertaining and informative. I am hoping Dan will get to be just as good as Mike.

I also agree that Chip and Sean are the best of the bunch. Unfortunately, I rarely get to listen to them because of the time slot. And it doesn't seem like that is going to change. They used to be the prime time show, but at least what I understand, Chip was the one that wanted the earlier time slot so that he could still have time to do his other reporting. Of course, that was when he was at the DMN and he had a certain deadline for his stories, so maybe now that he is at OB, he could manage the later time slot. I would certainly prefer that.
