Just fun to guess since it's not over yet. Gotta suck when you have less class than Sheila Jackson Lee...

If you think this is a new low for American politics, you are one seriously out of touch MoFo.

I hope that does not become the norm no matter who is in office. Ridiculous!

Obviously, the public option will eventually cover illegal aliens. Think it through. Currently, illegal aliens get their US health care through county hospitals. It is paid for by county hospital board tax assessments on property. Once we have a public option, regular indigents will no longer have to rely on county hospital ERs for healthcare. The only people served there (county hospitals) will be illegal aliens. Obviously, at some point that obligation will be shoveled onto the public option (which in a few years will be the health insurance the entire country will be on).

I think it's a bad idea. We would go from local communities funding and providing care for the illegal aliens that live among (and with) them as neighbors, to a central federal bureaucracy funding and providing care, as a function of political deals and lobbying. I believe the detachment will lead to greater waste and inefficiencies.

A new low in decorum??? Again, not even close. We have had congressman beat each other with canes during debates.

And what was the f**k related comment that Vice President Dick Cheney (R) made as the head of the Senate? But that was not commentary directed at the President of the United States.

It's a low in as far as treatment of the President of the United States by the legislative branch. But you can rationalize away TaylorT.

In a new photo of Wilson I just saw I realized I need to give odds to anyone who wants to bet that Wilson has not paid for sex at some poiint in his life. [IMG]

No, of course not. It was a low-class manuever.

I am just pointing out that it is over the top to claim this event is some how a new low in American politics or a new low in decorum. That is myopic and simply not true.

Let's read up a bit on our grand history so we can have a proper frame of reference for events like this.

The President can be called out on something in this day and age with ease, but for an elected official to call him a liar while he is addressing Congress is indeed low. Just pitiful, plain and simple.

    gecko, DFWag,

Even Sen. McCain said this was a low and said Wilson needs to apologize..

You guys are saying a lot more about yourselves now than you are Joe Wilson. Call a spade, a spade. This was white trash behavior in our most respected of political events in this country.

    Scum. Absolute scum.

Not for disrespecting the office of president. I could care less about that.

What makes this such a perfect example of how villainous the Republican Party has become is not the interruption, there were many times I felt the strong desire to scream interruptions at this vacillating coward-in-chief, it is what prompted the outburst... xenophobic nationalism. Raw, naked, and without shame.

Scream when the president spouts ******** about the need for us to force people to buy into the fixed game of private health insurance.
Scream when the president offers the only rational plan (the public option) to those too old to pay in and those too poor to pay in.

Scream when the president speaks the truth about the plan not offering free health insurance to illegal immigrants? Absolute scum.

Hell, scream at the president for taking part in the vilification of illegal immigrants as a sop to the howling horde of xenophobic nationalist morons who have no respect for him. If you're going to kiss *** at least the kiss the asses that are not actively shitting on you, Obama.

Agree that it was low class and uncalled for. However, his piss poor conduct pales in comparison to the massive government grab of healthcare which adds to the deficit another 1 trillion dollars and affects us, our children, grandchildren for many years to come if passed.

Gee WildBill,, not one for reading are we. I just listened to our President tell Congress he will not sign any bill that adds one dime to the US deficit- a deficit in large part due to unfunded wars, tax breaks and prescription drug medicine plans- all things passed by the previous administration. But, don't let your partisan goggles get in the way of tonight's speech.

Wow, there is even a big uproar when a Congressperson tells the truth for once.

He wasn't telling the truth. He screamed "you lie" when Obama made a factually true statement.

He couldn't even get being a classless clown right.

In a statement, Wilson said later that he regretted the incident.

"This evening I let my emotions get the best of me," Wilson said. "While I disagree with the president's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility."

    Wilson Apologizes

Also, for the record- Wilson was wrong- and he in fact "lied"
