So, you would rather not watch the game?? I don't care what channel the games on so long as I get to see it. Those two guys are great hockey announcers...not so much for college football. I thought the HD picture was really good.
It wasn't horrible, the picture quality was pretty good. But missing plays and the endless ED commercials was a problem. I've got twin 9 year old boys, I knew at some point they were going to ask me "Dad, what's male enhancement?" I made it until the third quarter before the question came up.
As much bitching as I hear on HF about play-by-play and color commentary morons, I thought these guys did a pretty good job. They seemed to have done at least minimal homework on the teams, enough that they didn't repeat themselves constantly with a handful of cliche talking points. No butchering of names that I can recall, either. I can't speak about the HD quality, because I watched the whole game on a justin.tv feed. And I thought the ED commercials were amusing, although I agree with Gnome Man, so I muted the sound when the kids came in.
Several times during the game, my son and I commented that the coverage was so much better than FoxSW. The announcers were not half bad, in my opinion. Certainly not the quality you would get with the networks or ESPN, but not bad at all. I was pretty skeptical when I first heard Versus was doing it.
it's better than PPV. It's nice not to have to drive an hour into downtown Chicago to watch the game, when I can watch it on my big screen at home. I'll take any channel i can get.
HD and free vs. low def. for $50...Versus gets my vote. Either way, I have to go to a bar to even watch the damn game.
We did not see the score or down and distance on or around the north endzone video board, only the time. There must have been a scoreboard above us in the south endzone. I remember another fan commenting on not being able to find a true scoreboard.
