There is a post on Craigslist for 4 tickets in Section 30 Row47 for 500.00 for all 4 tickets. The seller ask for your E-Bay name and shipping address. You then get an e-mail that looks like it came from E-Bay but your account will not reflect this. He only accepts Western Union for payment. This is some dirtbag trying to run a scam on a big ballgame.

I'm just posting to keep this up at the top. I hope the admins don't mind, but this info should be relayed to all that are searching for tickets.

The fun part is when you mess with them. They say they are in Wisconsin or somewhere really far away, so you say that you happen to be travelling up there, or your brother in law lives in the same town, so you can actually meet them face to face.

How suspect should I be of this reply.

Because i am located in Phoenix, AZ i would like to do this transaction trough eBay.In order to start the transaction i will need your full name, address and your eBay id.They will send you an invoice how to purchase the tickets from me ( You will be sending the money to an eBay agent.eBay will send the funds to me only after you will send them the confirmation that you received the tickets and they are real).
I will send the tickets via UPS overnight.

    Thank You

    Has anybody ever done this?

I replied to one Craiglist ad a couple of week ago for season tickets. The person said they were in Scottsdale, AZ and that once I wired the money to them they would Fedex the tickets. I passed on those seats.

If it looks like a scam and smells like a scam then it's probably a scam. Better safe than sorry.

Use Stubb Hub. If is a scam they find you tickets elsewhere(as close as they can get). Unless you're buyin 100s of tickets the premium on each ticket is worth the piece of mind.

That add is still running on Craigslist this morning. Almost word for word, except now he says he's in Virginia.

same guy in LA now. I asked him if I could pay through paypal and he said he didn't use paypal due to a bad experience with them. when it became obvious this guy was a scammer, i asked him to email me the tickets first, send me his photo id., send me a copy of his criminal record, and send me his social security number. i haven't heard from him since.

I really appreciate your response to my email. I want you to consider
it sold, Pls do withdraw the advert from CL to avoid disturbance, anyway I
don't have time to come over to take a look because of my
Business that makes me busy but you don't need to bother yourself with
the shipment, I'll take care of that by engaging the services of a
mover, hence I'll be sending you a check and it will be delivered to
you via United ParcelService (UPS), so I'll need you to provide me
with the followinginformation to facilitate the mailing of the check.
1.Name to be on the payment _______2.Home address________
    City_______State_________ Zip Code__________3.Cell phone
    #_________
I am completely satisfied with the advert and the payment will be delivered
within 2-3 working days. Note that the payment will be shipped to your
address via UPS NEXT DAY AIR SERVICE and I will like you to know that
you will not be responsible for shipping i will have my shipper to
come over as soon as you have cashed the check* N.B UPS does not

Guys, the only way people won't get scammed is once you see those ads, flag them to notify the craigslist staff. Once there are enough flags, they will get taken down.

I also ran into a scammer on Craigslist during my search for tickets. Advertised 4 in Sec. 28 for $500. I was suspicious, but asked if they were available. This is what i got back:

"The tickets are still available. I can send the tickets this morning and you can receive them on Saturday morning at any address in the US.
My name is Amanda Horner and I am now in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Me and my husband came here with our best friends who are honeymooning and we liked it so much here that we decide to prolong this vacation and stay here for another 2 weeks. I have the tickets with me and I would hate to see the tickets go to waste so we are looking for a buyer for these 4 tickets.
With the game day approaching fast, I would like to move forward with this sale as soon as we reach terms.
Obviously we need a safe delivery and payment option to make sure the exchange goes well.
Here in the Uk we have found a great way for us to complete the deal safely and fast, and in this way you will receive the tickets in less than 24 hours after I send them, if you can take care of your part of the deal the same day as well.
The solution is provided by the shipping company Royal Mail. They are very big here in the UK, very similar to Fedex or UPS, and they will handle and delivery of the tickets as well as the payment part.
What this procedure does is make sure you receive the tickets before I receive the money and at the same time your money will be held by Royal Mail to ensure I get paid once you use the tickets to see the game.
With this procedure I will only receive the payment for the tickets after the game, after you receive and use the tickets.
The link below is taken from the Royal Mail site and it explains the procedure I was talking about. Please check the link and the procedure and let me know if you agree to the terms.
    The Link

Like I said, I will pay for the overnight delivery so you will receive them in time.

Let me know if we can proceed.

    Amanda"

These must be really good friends if they are invited to go along on a Honeymoon!!!

I advised Craigslist of the situation, and I no longer find this ad listed. It proves the old adage--"if it sounds to good to be true--it is."
