Kindle was more noticeable (and seemed more disruptive) in the 2nd half. His combination sack/fumble on Potts was awesome, although as Musberger & Herbstreit mentioned, he could have been flagged for helmet-to-helmet.
Great play by Sergio. But he could have got the same result without the helmet-to-helmet. Should have been flagged. It's not even debatable.
I say good no call. He put his head down into Potts chest at the last second. The helmet only came off when he hit the ground and kindle slid over him.
^^^^^^ I agree the hit was clean. Look at the youtube link. Sergio's helmet is down at the moment of impact while the collision moved Kindles helmet up unintentionally.
For people that say it should have been a penalty, I really don't understand what they think he was supposed to do. He's about the same height as Potts, so naturally when he gets to Potts and tries to wrap him up their helmets are going to make contact. Is he supposed to launch himself towards Potts's abdomen once he gets five yards away to make sure their helmets don't touch?
I am watching this video and seeing Sergio leading with his face mask. Why is everyone calling him a dirty player. He has never shown any evidence of being dirty. Tech fans used to cream on themselves when Dwayne Slay would destroy people with the top of his helmet. Sergio puts his face mask in the middle of Potts' chest and he becomes the dirtiest player ever. If you have ever played football, look at the spot in the middle of the chest where you lace up your shoulder pads....See Sergio's face mask there! Get over it! Tech played well tonight.....but lost! Don't be a bunch of aggy's and cry about it.
I think Sergio got tired of hearing how he had no sacks. YOU WANT A SACK MFUCKER ILL GIVE YOUA ******* SACK
So if Colt gets hit the same as Potts, there won't be a bunch of whiny *** people crying about the hit not being called? My bet is if that happened, all hell would break lose. And we talk about holding not being called.....WTF?
Taylor Potts is terrific. He came back from that hit and played like an All-America quarterback. He's tough, smart and has a quick release. If the Texas defense hadn't been great, this could have been ugly the other way.
I need to send this clip to a Tech co-worker. My office IT group blocks all links to Youtube...How do I save a copy of this clip in a standard file? I need techie to open up his email Monday with this clip. I'm old and non computer savvy. But I did learn FORTRAN and how to use a punchcard machine while at UT.
Kindle dropped his helmet to where it hit the ball first, and slid up into Pott's chinstrap. It wasn't a helmet to helmet hit.
