    Go media.

I don't care how we played the week before OU. In fact since we wont he title I don't get upset until we lose. I enjoy every win

The handwringing on the other boards is perplexing. It indicates that people can never be happy or they like to worry.

Sure we have flaws but oh well.

This is setting up great. The media have proclaimed the winner of Bama/Fla the national champion. Ideally we will be 7-9 point dogs after the non stop fellating up until the SEC championship game and then then the non stop who wants to sex mutombo after the refractory period post-game.

Why do I like this - THE MONEY LINE.

    I got nearly 2-1 in 2005.

At best that article is, uh, premature. Those guys should stick to writing about how to make money.

Granted, Texas isn't the 2nd best team but Florida isn't either. They barely beat a mediocre LSU team and against the other UT didn't look to sharp at home. Alabama is the #1 team IMHO and every other undefeated team is a close 2nd.

Even as bad as we have started in games, that was due to our offense and not our defense. We would beat Florida today, yesterday and tomorrow. They have a good defense but so do we and Alabama. To me Alabama has been hitting all cylinders on both sides of the ball and special teams, count me as impressed.

In the end, I think it will be SEC champ and Big XII champ (UT) playing for it all.

Wow, the Apocalypse is Upon Us... The Wall Street Journal has now joined in the fellating of all things SEC and Tim Tebow. If two SEC teams get together in an ugly 13-3 game like Florida/LSU on Saturday night, then it's a hard-fought contest between two defensive teams. If the same type of game occurs in the Big 12, it's because the teams aren't very good. And counter to that, if you have two big 12 teams that have a high-scoring game, it's because there's no good defense being played, rather than two prolific offenses going at it. The media needs to figure out what constitutes a good game or a good conference and be consistent with it.

I will venture to say that the way Texas is playing this year - an offense that sometimes seems not to be clicking on all cylinders, but yet they have a strong defense and special teams - they look more like an SEC team than a "Big 12" team (at least compared to the high-scoring Big 12 teams from the last couple of years).

I just hope Texas takes care of business and has an opportunity to take on the winner of the SEC, who no doubt will be declared the best team of all time a full month before the NC game... but then again, we've been in that position before now haven't we? [IMG]

Wow, per the WSJ, BlowU isn't even in their top 16. So we won't score any SOS points when we beat them this week. Also, Mizzou and Kansas aren't in their top 16 either, nor are they likely to make it. So even if we're lucky enough to go undefeated through our schedule, we'll be undeserving of a trip to the title game. Maybe they can bestow some sort of rightful trophy to the SEC champions to recognize their national supremacy.

There's plenty of football left for both FL and LSU. Last year, who would have expected Ole Miss to go into The Swamp and beat FL? Two years ago, did anyone expect ARK to beat LSU? Yes, the table looks set for both teams, but anything can happen.

All things considered, Texas (or any team) is better off being the underdog.

Alabama is so great. Lets look at their greatness against Ole Miss.
Alabama started 5 drives in Ole Miss territory and scored 0 touchdowns.
Drive 1: started on Miss 26 after an interception, went nowhere, kicked a field goal.
Drive 2: started on Miss 5 after a blocked punt, 3 and out, settled for a field goal.
Drive 3: started on Miss 40 after a muffed punt, included a 1st and Goal on the Miss 3, settled for a field goal.
Drive 4: started on Miss 16 after interception, resulted in 0 points.
Drive 5: started on Miss 22 after interception, resulted in a field goal.

Alabama also had 1 60 yard TD drive and 1 58 yard field goal drive early in the game. Mississippi had 5 turnovers and bama could score only 1 TD all game.

    Complete team my a$$.

On a side note Alabama was considered one of the best teams right before they played Utah in the Sugar Bowl last season. How did that work out for them?

There is a race, you see. It's on a proverbial track, you see. There are lots of runners running this race, you see. People want to make it controversial and write sensational things about the race and the runners when the race is only half finished.

This is perfect timing for this journalism as it gets people on both sides to talk. If in doubt of what to write and you want an audience, there is a recipe.

    Notre Dame anything.

    SEC anything.

    Tebow anything.

    USC anything.

Any combo of those things get people to click and read and probably discuss no matter how inane the piece may be.

This race is not over yet nor will it be for weeks to come.

    Riddle me this, Batman.

What four letter word that rhymes with "ooohtawh" does Bama want no part of?
