That is very cool to see some good American marathoners again! I thought Hall would be the odds-on favorite. For those who didn't know, Austin is the home of legendary American marathoner, Dick Beardsley, who competed neck and neck with Salazar on many occasions. Many Americans were born elsewhere, including ex-Horn Leonel Manzano and his USA teammates Bernard Lagat and Lopez Lomong. All three runners who represented the USA in the 1500 at the Beijing Olympics were foregin-born, but are Americans now. We are a land of immigrants, and hopefully, always will be.
