    ROFLMAO

I love how you S-E-C! fellaters get your panties in a bunch over the slightest perceived slight. Buchanan was spot on in likening it to the beautiful insecure woman.

I never said that UCF's defense was "great" (really, go ahead...I'll wait). I was only pointing out your flaw in applying the transitive property of equality (remember 282 versus 282?) by introducing relativism (282 against 2nd-stringers versus 282 against 1st-stringers).

    AC,

HNK said ucf's defense was great. That was the post to which I was responding. It was even quoted in my reply. Step 1 is to read the posts to which you're responding.

Following that advice would also have kept you from making the errors you did I. Sections 2 and 3 of your post. All I'm asking for is consistent standards; i'm not contending that uf's win proves it's better than Texas. Also, a closer reading would reveal that I'm talking about effects that occur AFTEr playing your top rival, not before. Do you know the difference between "before" and "after?"

finally, again, I was responding to HNK's post, his comments, and his ranking. As I pointed out last week, I believe he is usin inconsistent standards. He is dismissing out of hand games in which Florida is impressive, and not applying the same standards to Texas. In order to continue that this week, he had to concoct the ridiculous assertion that a 5-4 CUSA team has a "great" defense in order to justify a wide disparity in performance of the teams that wasn't reflected in the outcome of the games. In order to defend that inconsistent, flawed analysis you've had to fabricate things out of thin air ( not a first for you).

Thought and logic may be scary at first, but you shouldn't lash out at those of us who choose to employ them.

If I were and up-and-coming offensive coordinator or recruit, Nebraska would be in my top 3 choices by default. Bottom line, if NU's offense becomes even mildly respectable, they will become really scary really fast.

You win, Lapdog. Who could ever hope to compete with your truly dizzying intellect? [IMG]

    What's Lapdog's problem anyway?

    What a cryboy.

    HNK's posts are awesome.

Lapdog's posts cry like Nancy Kerrigan.

Just out of curiousity, what did I fabricate out of thin air? And what have I historically fabricated out of thin air? Besides, unless I'm mistaken, this thread is pretty much HNK's opinion, which you seem dogged to disprove with your own opinion asserted as fact. [IMG]

I disagree with the OP on a couple of points.

First, NU is better than an average team. They are playing great, extremely tough, physical defense. They have the best defensive lineman in the country in Suh. And they have a fine running back, and a tough offensive line.

They are one player away from a 10-2 season. That player would be a very good QB. Lee is awful, the freshman is inexperienced, and will be much better next year.

2nd: I don't think ou "gave" the game away. I think NU took this game from ou with their attacking, physical defense. ou's QB was not good, true, but he was harrassed, knocked down, and whacked the whole game.

    some thoughts on the game.

    1. it is really said that we don't play every year. i wasn't even that pumped up about our game last night and that is sad. big12 should have found a way to keep this rivalry front and center. of course, it would help if nebraska would have played in the big12 championship more, but still.... i should have been pumped about this game regardless of records.... just like ou/tx. unfortunately, it is just not that way anymore and it depresses me.

    2. i don't think we gave the game away either. sure, landry wasn't on his game, but a LOT of that had to do with nebraska's defense dominating our OL. should we have won? sure, we have a more talented team, but the nebraska defense was pumped last and the played very strong.

    3. people can say what they want about selling out last year, and they might be right to some exent...... but or problems begin and end with the OL.

it is hard to take, but we just have to put it behind us and try to win out. just gotta wait until next year. the way it goes sometimes.

    No, it's correct.

With the score 27-3, Meyer took Tebow out IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING a 64-yard hookup with Hernandez, and then turned the reigns over to Brantley at the Vandy 17 with 5 minutes to play. Brantley was unable to produce a score. Had Tebow stayed in and the Gators scored, the final would have been 34-3, which may have taken them off of HNK's dreaded "NOT" list.

Gilbert did not even enter the game until there was less than a minute left.

While true that Gilbert did not enter the game until about the 2 minute mark, that is because UCF went on, and it pains me to say it, a 7 minute drive that took the clock from about 9 minutes to 2 minutes. Seeing as how Mack has a history pulling Colt after the first drive in 4th quarter, I would assume he would have continued this trend.

So the point remains, Colt took his last snap at around the 9 minute mark, Tebow, as you say, at around the 5 minute mark. I don't think it matters either way though, as both coaches probably could have put 2 more TD's up if pressed to.
