We must stay focused and keep on track. This is a game we have to be careful with. Remember the Bears have just beat a good Missouri team and their young QB and DBs are starting to jell and so we must be ready. To remind you of the past when we played in Waco to help with your focusness we must remember (and these are just a few of the years) 1974 Baylor beats us 24-34 and costs us a SWC Championship. The final score was left on overnight at Baylor stadium. 1970 A two win Baylor team almost stops our win streak but we hold on to win 21 - 14. Baylor had one td that was called back by a penalty and they were at our six yard line throwing the ball to the endzone to try to get a td near the end of the game. The newspapers the next day really played it up and one would have thought reading the papers that Baylor had won. 1964 We have a great 10 - 1 record but Baylor gave us all we could handle as we score on a fourth quarter td pass to win 20 - 14 against a Baylor team that lost 5 games that year. 1941 Baylor cost us a MNC by tying us 7 - 7. This Baylor team only won 3 games that year. So you see we must not take them lightly. We must be focused and ready. Those going to the game please be lour and really support the Horns. Synergy is important. To stress the importance of Synergy I have already started flying my UT auto flag even though my local football team is in the playoffs. Priority must take place. Those in Austin continue the good work. Do not be complacent but focused. We must be focused and encourage the synergy. If we go there and play as we are capable we can win the game. But each of us must help. We are getting closer to the end of the season so let's not let up now. GO HORNS! FIGHT AND WIN! BEAT THE BEARS!
Thanks, Bill. I am a bit younger than you, but I still vividly remember the Grant Teaff farewell game against Baylor in 1992. Texas lost that one 21-20, thanks in no small part to a legit Texas TD that got called back. Texas got jobbed so badly by the refs in that game, it was clear they wanted Teaff to go out with a win. Unfrickinbelievable. Those refs would fit right in in the SEC today. Focusness engaged!!!
great post Bill. It is good to be reminded that Baylor could indeed cost us a shot at the MNC if our focusness falters or falls or fails or freezes, or ..... oh well you get it.
Focusness is in tall order for this game. I really want us to beat these guys into the ground. I am still pissed off that Art Briles voted us 5th last year. We need to beat them by a large margin as we wouldn't want ole Art to think we're not worthy to play for a championship (Big 12, MNC).

Baylor killed us in DKR in the McWilliams days. We still have not given them enough payback for that.
'97 was the last time we lost to BU and we only won 2 conference games, KU and ousux The following year we played 4 teams in the top 7 and beat #7 Nebraska and #6 a&m...Mack's first year...oh my how times have changed, and no comparisons to this season
We musn't forget last year when they ignored a fair catch signal and blasted Ship. Also the leg whip they were flagged for, or the Art "Roid" Briles voting record.
and let us pray the Sinton Pirates, Bill's own, can handle Rio Hondo. My guess is UT by 30 over Baylor and Sinton over Rio Hondo by 20.
During this fight, I've seen a lot of changing, in the way you feel about me, and in the way I feel about you. In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than twenty million. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if I can have focusness, and you can have focusness, everybody can have focusness!
