This is dumb. He probably got his fat girlfriend (or his dad) to log into his account at his dad's house at the time he would be committing the crime. How the hell could this stand up in court?
I don't get it. All that can be determined is that his Facebook account was updated. It says nothign about who updated it. This alibi should be investigated and taken seriously but it should not be considered conclusive evidence that he did not commit the crime.
Yea, you can update facebook with web-enabled phone from almost anywhere too. I could be stabbing a guy to death with one hand, and changing by facebook in the other to "chillin at the beach, definitely NOT stabbing right now."
It says in the article they were able to determine it was posted from his father's house. I'm sure they could also look at the phone records and see he was on the phone w/ the girlfriend too. Sounds like the kid was a thug, but this is proof enough he didn't do it.
So I could be off killing someone and have someone sitting in my house updating my status? Its the perfect crime. Criss cross.
I've left my facebook up numerous times and my roommates have changed my status to crazy things. This is one of the dumbest things i've ever heard. As far as we know, his father could have changed his facebook status. I know the odds of that happening are extremely low, but its not out of the realm of possibility, meaning there's no way this should have held up in court.
