About 33,000 I think they said. Big places always make the crowds less of a factor, but it's cool to see all that burnt orange!
They just showed some woman sitting about a mile away from the court with a great view of the mega-tron. I have the exact same view from my couch, and mine was free. After the regional in 2008, I'm not sure I can ever go to a game with that kind of setup again. It's just awful.
True...but you don't get to hear the sneakers squeak. I will take my free seat over being packed in the back of JerryWorld.
my brother in law just sent me a text from the game...he said that it would suck if he wasn't sitting on the floor exactly why I chose not to go!
The days of the NCAA putting the Tournament in actual Basketball venues are over. Too much money to be had to put the game in a ******* hangar. It's too bad.
I went to the UT/NU game at Cowboy Stadium and left underwhelmed regarding the facility as a good venue for college sports. It is too cavernous. Give me the Cotton Bowl or DKR any day. I figured the crowd today would not get that loud but like the other person said, it was great to see so much burnt orange and for us to get such great press. I want us to replace Florida as the school winning national championships. Can you imagine the thrill if we could win football, basketball and baseball championships. Plus, volleyball!
It looked to me like the lower level seats were below the floor. Kinda like where the benches were. I'm not sure I would like being below the floor level. Of course I've never sat there before.
Our $50 seats were so farr away, I had to watch the game on the big screen. Between the CCG in FB and today, I would give the Boss Hawg Bowl an "over-rated" chant.
This was my first time at Jerrahworld. We had $65.00 field level seats in around the 45th row in the end zone level and our vantage point wasn't bad at all. In fact, my group was saying we would love to see the Final 4 there. I hardly ever found myself looking up at the screen, loved the fact they served beer ($8 a 12 oz, $10 mix drinks) and enjoyed my time mingling with UNC fans. While we probably wont be going to any Cowboy games for some time, I can see myself going back for events like this... it really was a good time.
Reliant used the dome configuration in the Regional 2 years ago when we played there, and I am sure will use it again this year. That configuration sucks for basketball . . .
I thought the vibe was better for basketball than football, but I'd rather only play there for BIG events (Final Four), not regular games or even NCAA regionals.
