I'm taking the motorhome out to the game, and I thought I'd ask - has anyone organized a convoy to Cali? Or if not, is anyone interested in starting one?
I'm a single dude (32 years old) wondering if anyone wants to split traveling costs...either gas or hotels. If there is a convoy I'd participate. Doesn't make sense (or cents) for me to travel and stay alone out there if there is anyone else in the same boat.
I was actually thinking of starting this same thread. I think this would be cool. I'm in if we can work out the details, but I was wanting to leave on the 4th. Is that too early for you guys?
As of right now the tentative plan is to leave from San Antonio a little after noon on Tuesday the 5th, taking I-10 with just a few small breaks for gas/food along the way. So that would put us in Phoenix late night/early in the morning on Wednesday and Pasadena that afternoon.
You guys better have some form of window flags, large magnetic Bevo's or something to accessorize the vehicles. Just sayin'. And this is a cool idea. It's fun to be trucking down the road and realize you are next to a fellow Horn and honk away. Same as running into them at a store or restaurant along the way.
We've thought about the 4th as well as I have a couple of clients I could see...nothing like expensing part of the trip! We will of course have the truck loaded with magnetics, flags flying, and my plastic "horns" on the hood ala Boss Hogg. We would be coming from SA.

Looks like we are leaving early on the 4th...staying in the PHX area that night. I'm meeting with a couple of clients in the morning for breakfast (so I can expense part of my trip...yeah)...then off to LA. Leaving from San Antonio
Okay fellas, looks like I'll be leading the way to Pasadena. Leaving on the 3rd to El Paso. Will roll into PHX on the 4th and in plenty of time to buy some cheap TCU/Boise tix (I hope). Then we'll bring it on in to LA on the 5th; relax, tour and then help my daughter finish an essay paper. Enjoy a Laker game on the 6th and eat sausage wraps cooked up by Big Will on the 7th; and then watch Colt and company bring home the crystal. I'll be dead broke on the 8th so if you see a man with his cute little teenage daughter on the side of the road with a tin can, flip us a nickle or two.
I'll be heading through San Antonio tomorrow morning at 9:30 to 10 AM and heading to phoenix for the night then Pasadena the next morning if anyone still needs a ride/wants to split gas. PM me if interested
