I'm surprised there's no posts on here giving props to these 2. They played lights out tonite and made the Longhorn nation proud. They harassed mcelroy relentlessly and all-in-all played pretty good run defense given the situation and the amount of time they spent on the field. We will sorely lose their ability and leadership. I just hope some of the young guys on the D-line can step in but they will have to fill a very large void left by these guys. I was also very impressed with Acho's leadership and it was great to see him encouraging GG. He is going to be special next year and will likely be the heart and soul of a dominating defense next season.
Ditto on everything you said. Regarding Acho, I had a better feeling about the game when I saw him praying over GG before the start of the 2nd half.
They definitely raised their draft stock last night. Hats off to them and they will be sorely missed.
Their intensity and effort tonight was great. Motors didn't stop all night and helped keep us within shouting distance in the 3rd quarter. Love those guys, and they will be missed, but both should be picking up a nice check in the NFL next season.
Houston's play on the sack that he and Kindle shared in the 1st Half--i.e., when Houston ripped his way past an OG, got a hand on McElroy, went to the ground, bounced right back up, reversed direction, and combined with Kindle for the sack--is one of the greatest plays that I have ever seen from a DT. Ever.
Agree with PFD completely. So many times you see the DT fall down and stay down on a play like that. But Houston popped right back up and chased McElroy down a second time. Just a fantastic play. Those two were better than any d-lineman in Crimson last night.
