    Just a few thoughts;

Firstly, Texas played a very good game. Hard hitting, clean. The Longhorns blocked and tackled exceptionally well. Hardly a missed tackle the entire game. Just an outstanding team.

Secondly, I do not know a single Alabama fan who thinks the win is "tainted" in the least. McCoy was knocked out of the game by a clean hard hit from a 300 lbs Alabama sophomore. If he had missed the game because of the flu or something unrelated to the game, then maybe some would think the win was tainted. But not under these circumstances.

Finally, most Alabama fans have the utmost respect for The University of Texas. In fact, the University of Alabama Law School tells prospective students that the Law School is the best law school between Charlottesville, VA and Austin TX. That's a pretty strong endorsement. Unfortunately, some people drink too much at games, say inappropriate things, and I apologize for that.

Best of luck next year. Maybe, if we work hard, have a little luck, we can give you a rematch.

We had a great time in tailgates with Bama fans. In Dallas on the way back from the game one told me that he had never meet a fan base that was such a class act.

I told him that I had nothing but good experiences with Bama fans. He said he was used to SEC fans and that they feel the need to be ******** and he thought Texas fans had a lot to do with how well the fan bases treated each other.

I wasn't at the game, but my interactions with Bama fans have always been great. If Texas couldn't do it, I am glad that Alabama won it. They have done a great job turning around there football program. Congrats to them.

Great interactions with Bama fans before and after the game. Beautiful women all around the golf course and plenty of good liquor and cigars. No complaints other than the final score. Sometimes it takes a loss to remind you of the level of love and commitment you have to a university. Thursday night drove that home once again. I felt like the blood was being drained from my body as the clock ticked down.

And I don't blame Saban for that last touchdown either

I have to respectfully disagree. He's an asshat who wanted to run up the score to make it look like Alabama dominated. Dude's always been classless and those stripes aren't changing.

Im in the minority here. I don't blame him at all. You play for 60 min. Why take a chance at a fluke play.

I think you run the risk of a encountering a "fluke play" more times when trying to score than simply taking a knee, IMHO.

When Bama made the last interception, the player had running room, but went to the ground.....a very heady and proper play in that circumstance. Saban trumped the cautiousness displayed by his player when he continued to twist the knife.

Great Comments from Some on this thread.

First calling Saban and Alabama fans "Classless" is classless in itself.
We haven't played Texas since 1982 until Thursday Night. Our Fans are unfamiliar with your fans. The majority of Bama fans are great folks to talk to or tailgate with. In every fan base you are going to have the obnoxious drunken A-holes who live off the sucess of their chosen college football team especially. If their team is considered a winning program. Please don't tell me that Texas have many folks like that?

As far as McElroy giving the horns down sign. He's a kid folks celebrating. He could'nt pull that until after the game simply because Saban would reem his arse if he did.

Again do Texas players ever do taunting gestures to other teams they beat? I thought so!

After His Holiness Tim Tebow beat Oklahoma last year he taunted Okie with the Gator "Chomp Chomp". When Florida lost to is in the SECCG Tebow was crying and some of us made Kleenex jokes and you should have read the rukus about us. BS

Agree with the consensus on this thread.

I found the Bama fans to be great in LA all week, and in Pasadena before, during, and after the game. Friendly, knowledgeable, good folks... and they seemed to really soak up the whole atmosphere. The Bama fans in front of us loved hearing the Eyes and seeing all 45,000 of us doing the Hook 'em sign in unison. They enjoyed the experience as much as the win.

I also found it strangely quiet after the game in Pasadena. No real celebrating on their behalf, for whatever reason. Regardless, I thought their fans were as classy and good-natured as any I've encountered.

All the Bama fans I talked to before and after the game were great. We all came to agreement that the loser of the game should ranked #2.

98% of the Bama fans I met, saw and talked to before, during and after the game were great. There's always some bad apples, including a couple I saw wearing orange.

As far as Saban not taking the knee and McElroy doing the Horns down,, let's just say actions speak louder than words. [IMG]
