deruyter is one of the candidates that's being considered.

hopefully we'll get it all locked up by the end of this week.

No DC worth his salt is going to take a job until the Tenn job is filled [IMG]

    Just in case.....

you're right. and wouldnt surprise me if tenn. went after troy calhoun, meaning that deruyter could either go with him to tenn, or become the HC at air force.

will be interesting to see what happens.

Maybe, but why would he leave Boise St, a top 10 program, for a doormat like atm? Seriously, why?

this guy's been working in Colorado Springs at a no-**** service academy. Imagine his reaction when some pimply toy soldier comes running over to him screaming "UNCOVER!!!'

Boise State's defense actually looked pretty darn good against the two best teams it faced last season -- Oregon and TCU.

From one ******** (Boise, ID) to another (collie station, TX)? That would have to mean a LOT more $$$$$$$$$$.

PropJoe, seeing as the agricultural & mechanical division of The University of Texas is in the "hole" financially, you know for having to pay FranCakes his big paycheck and for other past trangressions, where is $Bill going to come up with all this Jack for Boise's dude? [IMG]

    Just asking...

the loan from the university is being paid off.

kines made 400k. we have enough money budgeted to pay a DC up to 500k probably.

    i think we'll make a solid hire.

Oh, the irony of someone named Jethro coaching the agroids. This should provide plenty of amusing anecdotes. [IMG]

Say what you will, but I am a bit relieved that A&M inked an up and coming DC whose qualifications exceeded being born on a train or splitting a bottle of Old Smuggler with R.C. and the Board of Regents back in the day. This alone is progress.

Are you still paying off Jackie Sherill's disgruntled players? Or has that contract run its course?
Will Jethro consider aggy a stepping stone job for a future at Arkansas?
    So many questions.

RC has been reassigned as "special advisor to the university president"--basically a fundraising position.

his salary comes from the university budget, not the athletic department.

jethro was the reason the horns didnt get devon kennard a few years back.

not that it made much of a difference, but he's known to be a pretty damn good recruiter. would love to have him on staff.

I'd love it if one of their other coaches was named Homer...agricultural would be the ONLY BCS school being coached by Homer & Jethro. They could change their school song to the theme from the Beverly Hillbillies. [IMG]
