He had a nice catch on I believe the final TD drive. I was hoping they would throw to him on that 3rd and 4th and from the one yard line just prior to half-time, but yeah, he has to be a happy camper today! [IMG]

Played some FB at times too, as well as blocking through out the game.

Wasnt cheering for the Saints but couldnt be happier for David. That's three members of the 05 team who now have Super Bowl rings to go with their NC rings (Ross and Sweed).

I was hoping they'd throw to him a little more, but you can't have everything. Congrats, David. I love seeing my Horns do well after they move on. [IMG]

Kbrown is right. I read where he was traded this year to New Orleans by the Patriouts for a 7th rounder in the 2011 draft. He had some injuries at New England and I guess they gave up on him. What a bargain it was for the Saints. Also a great deal for David too because he is now a super bowl champion this year and was a big contributor. Well Done David!

    if my calculations are correct...

in only 6 years, david has 14 losses, 1 BCS championship, and 2 superbowl wins.

    not too shabby.

My cousin and I were @ the Longhorn club @ Frank Erwin Center Monday night when an older gentelman and his wife sat at our table... Someone came up and congratulated him on his nephews play Sunday night... Then I heard part of the conversation about having both a Super Bowl ring and a National Championship ring..

Yup.. David Thomas' uncle... I congratulated him and then left him alone... all in all, pretty cool though.

David caught 35 passes for 356 yards this year. 18 of the catches were good for first downs. You have to love a guy who's a great blocker and also keeps the chains moving. The Link

Has anyone ever won a State championship, National Championship, and Super Bowl?

    Just curious.

DT only has one Super Bowl ring. He lost in the Pats-Giants game. Still, he was a helluva pickup for a 7th round pick.

Would love to hear his response to which win was more special..

Just imagine most players play there whole college and pro carrer and if lucky may win a nc or a super bowl if there lucky. But to be able to expierence the thrill of winning both most be something.
